Viborg Katedralskole
Viborg Katedralskole is a public gymnasium (secondary education school) and IB World School in Viborg, Denmark. The school is located at Gammel Skivevej 2 in Viborg and supports about 1000 students. History The Katedralskole was established around 1060 as a Catholic seminary. Young men were schooled in Bible reading, hymn singing, and prayers, in Latin. Until the 16th century, the school's rector was appointed by the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Viborg and also served as a priest in one of Viborg's twelve churches. After the Protestant Reformation in 1536, regulation of the school was taken over by the Danish kings. In 1772, the school moved from its original site near Viborg Cathedral to St. Mogens Gade 1, while the earlier structure was rebuilt to hold a larger number of students and schoolmasters. Viborg () is a city in central Jutland, Denmark, the capital of both Viborg municipality and Region Midtjylland. Viborg is also the seat of the Western High Court, the Courts of Denmark, High Court for the Jutland peninsula. Viborg Municipality is the second-largest Denmark, Danish municipality, covering 3.3% of the country's total land area. Johan Otto Von Spreckelsen
Johan Otto von Spreckelsen (4 May 1929 – 16 March 1987) was a Danish architect, best known for designing the Grande Arche of La Défense in Puteaux, near Paris. He directed the creation of several modern churches in Denmark. Life He was born in Viborg and studied at the Viborg Katedralskole and Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen. He later became associate professor at the Academy and from 1978 he was professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture. He later served as director up to the time of his death. Josephine Touray (born 6 October 1979) is a former Danish team handball player and Olympic champion of Gambian descent. She played mainly as a right wing. Janus Metz Pedersen (born 27 September 1974) is a Danish film director and documentary filmmaker. Work Metz worked as a documentary researcher and moved to South Africa. There he worked on the television drama ''Soul City'' before making his debut documentary short ''Township Boys'' in 2006. His feature documentaries include ''Love on Delivery'' and ''Ticket to Paradise''. These two films are a two-part series depicting women in a situation of mail-ordered brides from Vietnam and Thailand to Denmark. In 2010, Pedersen directed ''Armadillo''. Jens Rohde (born 18 April 1970) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Christian Democrats political party.
