Verona Grove
Verona Grove was an American pop punk band from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. The band is signed to Pat's Record Company, a subsidiary of Universal Records. Members include singer/guitarist Tony Anders, bass guitar/background singer Charlie Wilhelm, and drummer Josh Helm. The Wisconsin Area Music Industry Awards nominated Verona Grove for their 2009 artist of the year, and it won the 2009 Rock Artist of the Year. History The band formed as high school students in Fond du Lac in early 2000. In 2003, the band beat around 100 bands to win the "Big Gig Competition" hosted on Summerfest.com, which led to a set opening for Sum 41 at Summerfest 2003. The band released their first album "Half Tanked" in 2003, after they were students at the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. They recorded a track at Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin. Fond du Lac () is a city in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 44,678 at the 2020 census. The city forms the core of the United States Census Bureau's Fond du Lac Metropolitan Statistical Area, which includes all of Fond du Lac County (2020 population: 104,154). Jamie Arentzen (born November 22, 1970) is a member of the alternative rock band American Hi-Fi and lead guitarist for Miley Cyrus. In the spring of 2009, he also played with Butch Walker's band, Butch Walker and the Let's Go Out Tonites. Life and career Arentzen was born in Guilford, Connecticut, where he attended Guilford High School. Thereafter, he studied music and liberal arts at the University of Miami, the University of Connecticut and Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. Settling in Boston, Arentzen played in various bands, including the indie band Sky Heroes. While living in Boston, he formed American Hi-Fi with friends Stacy Jones, Brian Nolan, and Drew Parsons. The county was created in the Wisconsin Territory in 1836 and later organized in 1844. Plain White T's are an American rock band from Lombard, Illinois, formed in 1997 by high school friends Tom Higgenson, Dave Tirio, and Ken Fletcher, and joined a short time later by Steve Mast.
