Veria Football Club () was a football club based in Veria, Imathia, Greece. Veria FC was founded in September 1960 when two local teams (Hermes and Vermion) merged. History 20th century 1960s In 1960 two local teams of Imathia, Hermes and Vermion, merged when their founders decided that this was the way to create a more competitive club and unite the local fans. Veria's first appearance in professional football championships came in 1962–63, when they finished sixth in the fourth group of Beta Ethniki. Four years later, the club had a breakthrough, finishing first in the third group of Beta Ethniki and then second in the play-offs to gain their first promotion to Alpha Ethniki. Because of this accomplishment, Veria were nicknamed "Queen of the North". Veria 1960 Football Club () is a Greek professional football club based in Veria, Greece. It was founded in 2018. It plays its home matches at the Veria Municipal Stadium. History Foundation Veria NFC was established on July 17, 2019. During the summer transfer window in 2019, Veria's board achieved to sign some significant players like Giannis Pasas and the Argentine midfielder Marcelo Penta as their goal was to achieve promotion to Super League 2. Veria participated in the third tier championship of Greek football, Football League during 2019–20 season and finished 6th as the championship was suspended due to COVID-19 pandemic and didn't allow them to compete for the promotion in the remaining fixtures. Matome Calvin Kadi (born 12 December 1987) is a retired South African professional footballer who lastly played for Bidvest Wits, as a striker. Career Born in Pietersburg, Kadi played youth football for Remember FC and the University of Pretoria before joining Jomo Cosmos in 2004. Dimitris Kalaitzidis (; born 20 January 1957) is a Greek professional football manager. Coaching career Kalaitzidis started his managerial career in 1996 as he was appointed manager of Ampelokipoi F.C. Through his career he managed sixteen different clubs. He spent most of his career being the manager of Veria F.C. First steps Kalaitzidis began his managerial career when he was hired as the head coach of Ampelokoipoi F.C.. Sofades
Sofades () is a town and municipality in Thessaly, central Greece belonging to the regional unit of Karditsa. Its 2011 census population was 6,056 people and 18,864 for the municipality, including a large Romani community. Preveza (, ) is a city in the region of Epirus, northwestern Greece, located on the northern peninsula of the mouth of the Ambracian Gulf. It is the capital of the regional unit of Preveza, which is the southern part of the region of Epirus. Greek Amateur Cup (Greek: Κύπελλο Ερασιτεχνικών Ομάδων Ελλάδος) was the most known competitions for amateur AND semi-professional teams in Greece, organised by the Hellenic Football Federation . It was founded in 1971 and folded in 2018 featuring the winners of the prefectures Cups in a knock-out format.
