Vernon Taylor (basketball)
Vernon Taylor (born February 15, 1987) is an American former basketball player. Standing at , he played as point guard or shooting guard. Following a college career with Spartanburg Methodist and Troy, Taylor played 12 years of professional basketball in Europe. Countries in which he played include Bulgaria, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Netherlands and Belgium. Early life and college career Taylor was born in Cross, South Carolina, a community close to Charleston. He had described Cross as a very "family-oriented" and "hard-working" community. His favorite player was Michael Jordan growing up. He played for the junior college Spartanburg Methodist starting from 2007, and later joined the Troy Trojans. Heroes Den Bosch is a Dutch professional basketball club based in 's-Hertogenbosch. The club plays in the BNXT League since 2021 and in the top basketball division in the Netherlands since 1972. COVID-19 Pandemic In The Netherlands
The COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The virus reached the Netherlands on 27 February 2020, when its first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Tilburg. It involved a 56-year-old Dutchman who had arrived in the Netherlands from Italy, where the COVID-19 pandemic seemed to enter Europe. 2019–20 Dutch Basketball League
The 2019–20 Dutch Basketball League (DBL) was the 60th season of the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. The regular season started on 28 September. On 12 March 2020, the season was postponed until 31 March because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On 14 March, the DBL announced to suspend the competition to at least 2 May. On 20 March, the DBL cancelled the rest of the season while naming no champion. Landstede Hammers qualified for the Basketball Champions League (BCL) based on the standings at the time. Format changes From this season, the DBL adopted FIBA's home-grown players rule. Teams need to have at least 4 (for a 10-man roster) or 5 (for a 12-man roster) home-grown players on their roster. The Dutch Basketball League (DBL), formerly the Eredivisie, was the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands, run by the Federatie Eredivisie Basketball (FEB). Donar, also known as Donar Groningen, is a professional basketball club based in Groningen, Netherlands. The club competes in the BNXT League and its home arena is MartiniPlaza, which has a seating capacity of 4,350 people. Donar is one of the traditional first division clubs along with Den Bosch, as it entered the league years ago. Devon van Oostrum (born 24 January 1993) is a British-Dutch professional basketball player who last played for the London Lions of the British Basketball League (BBL). He has represented the Great Britain men's national basketball team. Polska Liga Koszykówki (PLK) (English: Polish Basketball League) is a professional men's club basketball league in Poland. It constitutes the first and highest-tier level of the Polish league pyramid. The winning team of the final round are crowned the Polish Champions of that season. It began in 1947–48, with the name of I Liga, and was originally organized by the Polish Basketball Federation.
