George A. Vernicos (also Georgios Vernikos/ ; born 11 February 1950) is a Greek businessman and politician. He was elected as a Deputy (legislator), deputy to the Hellenic Parliament in the June 2012 Greek legislative election, Greek legislative election of June 2012. Political career He served as Deputy Minister for Ministry of Shipping (Greece), Merchant Marine and Aegean Affairs under the Cabinet of Antonis Samaras from June 21, 2012 until his formal resignation on July 5, 2012. George Vernicos currently is secretary general of the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE), President of INSETE, Member of the Board of the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, President of the Economic and Social Council of Greece (ΟΚΕ). Jean-Pierre Vermetten
Jean-Pierre Vermetten (6 February 1895 – December 1977) was a Belgian freestyle swimmer and water polo player who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics and in the 1924 Summer Olympics. In 1920 he was a member of the Belgian freestyle relay team, which was eliminated in the first round of the 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay event. Four years later, he won the silver medal with the Belgian water polo team. He played four matches and scored one goal.
