Verano De Escándalo (2001)
The 2001 ''Verano de Escándalo'' (Spanish for "Summer of Scandal") was the fifth annual '' Verano de Escándalo'' professional wrestling show promoted by AAA. The show took place on September 16, 2001, in Naucalpan, Mexico. The main event featured an eight-man "Atómicos" tag team match between the team of Canek, Zorro, Latin Lover, and Heavy Metal facing the team of Cibernético, Headhunter I, Electroshock, and Abismo Negro. Production Background First held during the summer of 1997 the Mexican professional wrestling, company AAA began holding a major wrestling show during the summer, most often in September, called '' Verano de Escándalo'' ("Summer of Scandal"). El Zorro (wrestler)
Jesús Cristóbal Martínez Rodriguez (born July 25, 1975) is a Mexican ''luchador'' (professional wrestler) who is best known as El Zorro. His gimmick started out very similar to the fictional character Zorro complete with mask, but in recent years it has evolved and the mask has been eliminated. He is best known for his work in the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) promotion in Mexico, where he is a former AAA Mega Championship, AAA Mega Champion. Edgar Luna Pozos (born April 22, 1970) is a Mexican '' luchador'', or professional wrestler, best known under the ring name Electroshock, which he has used while working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA) since 1997. Pozos is married to ''luchadora'' Lady Apache and is the brother of Luchador Charly Manson. Octagoncito (AAA)
Octagoncito (born March 23, 1972) is a Mexican ''Luchador'' '' enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler who works for Lucha Libre AAA World Wide's (AAA) ''Mini-Estrella'' division. He is the second wrestler to work under the ring name Octagoncito, being given the name after the original Octagoncito left AAA, although he still wrestles under the name on the independent circuit. Octagoncito's real name is not a matter of public record, as is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico where their private lives are kept a secret from the wrestling fans. A wrestling mask is a fabric-based mask that some professional wrestlers wear as part of their in-ring persona or gimmick. Professional wrestlers have been using masks as far back as 1915 and they are still widely used today, especially in Mexican professional wrestling. Triplemanía XX was a professional wrestling event scripted and produced by the AAA promotion, which took place on August 5, 2012, at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico. The event was the twentieth annual Triplemanía, which is AAA's biggest show of the year, and marked AAA's debut in the new Arena Ciudad de México. The event was headlined by a match between Dr. Wagner Jr. and Máscara Año 2000 Jr., where the loser was forced to unmask himself.
