Jane Remover (born September 26, 2003) is an American musician. They made their debut with '' Teen Week'' in 2021, a progressive pop and digicore EP with themes of adolescence. The same year, they released their debut studio album, '' Frailty'', a coming of age album following the similar themes of ''Teen Week'', but encompassing a wide range of genres. After coming out as a trans woman, they released their second studio album, ''Census Designated'', in 2023, a shoegaze and post-rock concept album inspired by a "near-death experience" at a road trip. In 2025, they released their third studio album, '' Revengeseekerz'', with influence from digicore and EDM. They pioneered the " dariacore" microgenre on SoundCloud with their album of the same name, in 2021, released under the pseudonym Leroy. Post-rock
Post-rock is a subgenre of experimental rock that emphasizes Texture (music), texture, atmosphere, and non-traditional song structures over conventional rock techniques. Post-rock artists often combine rock instrumentation and rock stylings with Electronic musical instrument, electronics and digital production as a means of enabling the exploration of textures, timbres and different styles. Vocals, when present, are often used as an instrumental layer, with many bands opting for entirely instrumental compositions. Deadnaming is the act of calling a transgender or non-binary person by their birth name after they have chosen a new name. Many transgender people change names as part of gender transition, and wish for their former name (''deadname'') to be kept private. Deadnaming has the effect of misgendering its subject, and potentially outing them as transgender. It may occur accidentally, or be done as a deliberate attempt to deny, mock, or invalidate a person's gender identity. Deliberately using a transgender person's deadname is considered offensive. The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) is a public university in Ewing Township, New Jersey. It is part of New Jersey's public system of higher education. ''Ghostholding'' is the debut studio album by Venturing, a side project of the American musician Jane Remover. It was released by DeadAir Records on February 14, 2025. Initially believed by fans to be a fictional indie rock band created by Remover, they clarified the Venturing alias is only a current project separate from their main music. The album was written by Remover between 2022 and 2024. They also recorded, produced, and mixed it from September 2024 to January 2025, concurrently with the third album under their main name, '' Revengeseekerz''. Four singles—"Sister", "Halloween", "Famous Girl", and "Dead Forever"—accompanied ''Ghostholding''. ''Dariacore'' is the debut studio album by Leroy, a side project of the American musician Jane Remover. It was self-released on May 14, 2021. Described as a Mashup (music), mashup album, Remover was inspired by the musician Vektroid and Weird SoundCloud, SoundClown music. Its name is taken from the ''Daria'' TV series. ''Dariacore'' was responsible for the creation of a dariacore, genre of the same name, which inspired a wave of SoundCloud artists, and was considered one of the best albums of 2021 by ''The Fader''. It received two sequels. Background and composition ''Dariacore'' was a result of Remover "messing around" in the digital audio workstation FL Studio after being inspired by the production livestreams of the electronic artist Vektroid. Microgenre
microgenre is a specialized or niche genre. The term has been used since at least the 1970s to describe highly specific subgenres of music, literature, film, and art. In music, examples include the myriad sub-subgenres of heavy metal and electronic music. Some genres are sometimes retroactively created by record dealers and collectors as a way to increase the monetary value of certain records, with early examples including Northern soul, freakbeat, garage punk, and sunshine pop.
