Velocity Racing Development
Velocity Racing Development, also competing as VRD Racing in select championships, is an auto racing team from the United States. The team competes in the USF Pro Championships in the United States and the GB3 Championship in Europe, previously in collaboration with Arden Motorsport. The team is based in Dawsonville, Georgia near Atlanta Motorsports Park and was founded by British engineer Dan Mitchell. History Velocity Racing Development was founded in 2019 by British engineer Dan Mitchell, following an engineering role with Team Benik and driver Kyle Kirkwood in 2018. VRD made its competitive debut in the 2019 F3 Americas Championship and the 2019 Formula 4 United States Championship. The team finished second in the F3 Americas teams' championship in its first year of competition. 2023 GB3 Championship
The 2023 GB3 Championship was a motor racing championship for open wheel, formula racing cars held across Europe. The 2023 season was the eighth organised by the British Racing Drivers' Club in the United Kingdom, and the third season under the GB3 moniker after rebranding from the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship in mid-2021. The championship featured a mix of professional motor racing teams and privately funded drivers. The season was run over eight triple-header rounds and started on 8 April at Oulton Park. Nikita Johnson (born May 25, 2008) is an American racing driver who is currently competes full-time in the 2025 GB3 Championship with Hitech Pulse-Eight and part-time in the 2025 Indy NXT with HMD Motorsports. He was the 2024 USF Pro 2000 runner-up, driving for Velocity Racing Development. Sam Corry
Sam Corry (born November 14, 2007) is an American racing driver. He most recently competed in the 2024 USF2000 Championship driving for Pabst Racing. He previously drove for Velocity Racing Development in the 2023 USF2000 Championship. Career USF Juniors On December 30, 2021, it was announced that Corry would make his open-wheel racing debut in the 2022 USF Juniors driving for Velocity Racing Development. He would immediately be competitive finishing third in the opening two race of the season at Ozarks International Raceway. Corry would get his maiden win in the first race at the Mid-Ohio round after overtaking championship leader Mac Clark following a restart with six laps to go. The 2021 Indy Pro 2000 Championship was the 23rd season in series history. An 18-round schedule was announced on October 21, 2020, featuring five permanent road courses, two street circuits, and two ovals. The series started on April 17, 2021 at Barber Motorsports Park. The 2019 F3 Americas Championship powered by Honda was the second season for the FIA Formula 3 regional series across North America. Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) is an American auto racing facility that contains two driving circuits in the North Georgia mountains. Designed by Formula One architect Hermann Tilke, Atlanta Motorsports Park's two-mile main road course is held in high regard by outlets such as ''Road & Track'', who named it to its list of Top 10 Tracks in North America.
