Velho Chico
''Velho Chico'' (English title: ''Old River'') is a Brazilian telenovela produced and broadcast by TV Globo from 14 March 2016 to 30 September 2016. Created by Benedito Ruy Barbosa, Edmara Barbosa and Bruno Luperi, and co-written with Luis Alberto de Abreu. Directed by Luiz Fernando Carvalho and co-directed by Carlos Araújo, Gustavo Fernandez, Antônio Karnewale and Philipe Barcinski. ''Velho Chico'' faced unprecedented challenges during its production; with Umberto Magnani and Domingos Montagner deaths. On the wake of Montagner's passing on 15 September 2016, two weeks before the scheduled show's finale, production entered in turmoil. A telenovela is a type of a television serial drama or soap opera produced primarily in Latin America. The word combines ''tele'' (for "television") and ''novela'' (meaning "novel"). Cachoeira ( Portuguese, meaning waterfall) is an inland municipality of Bahia, Brazil, on the Paraguaçu River. Tarcísio Meira
Tarcísio Pereira de Magalhães Sobrinho (5 October 1935 – 12 August 2021), known professionally as Tarcísio Meira, was a Brazilian actor. He was one of the first actors to work for TV Globo. He was born in São Paulo and was the longtime owner of Fazenda São Marcos, a 5000 ha cattle ranch in the eastern Amazonian state of Pará. Fazenda São Marcos is located approximately 20 km east of Aurora do Pará, off the Belém-Brasília highway.
