Vela Azul
Vela Azul (, foaled January 19, 2017) is a retired Japanese thoroughbred racehorse. The horse's name is Spanish for "blue sail", and was derived from his dam's name. Racing career Up to 4 year old season (2021) The horse underwent surgery at age one to remove bone fragments from his left fetlock, and suffered from osselet on his left forearm at age two. As a result, the horse was not entered in to any races until March 20 of 2020, where he finished 2nd at a 1800m long debut race held on the dirt course of the Hanshin Racecourse, with Yuichi Fukunaga as his jockey. According to the horse's trainer, , Vela Azul was entered in to dirt races initially due to concerns of his legs as the horse had at one point weighed nearly 600 kilograms. After several starts, Vela Azul won his first race on June 28 where he won an 1800 m long dirt race at Hanshin with Damian Lane as his jockey. Shahryar, ( ja, シャフリヤール, link=no, foaled 13 April 2018) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. He won his only start as a juvenile in 2020 and made rapid improvement in the following spring as he ran third in the Tokinominoru Kinen before taking the Mainichi Hai and Tokyo Yushun. Background Shahryar is a dark bay or brown horse with a white star and white socks on his hind legs bred in Japan by Northern Farm. The horse entered the ownership of the Northern Farm associate Sunday Racing and was sent into training with Hideaki Fujiwara. Hollie Doyle (born 11 October 1996) is a British jockey who competes in flat racing. She set a new record for winners ridden in a British season by a female jockey in 2019. is located in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is used for horse racing. It has a capacity of 120,000. It was built in 1999. History Kyoto Race Course opened on December 1, 1925. In preparation for the track's 100th anniversary, Kyoto Race Course will be closed from November 2020 until the Spring of 2023 for grandstand renovations. Races normally run at Kyoto will be moved to either Hanshin Racecourse or Chukyo Racecourse during this time. Takarazuka Kinen
The Takarazuka Kinen (宝塚記念) is a Grade I flat horse race in Japan for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds where they run over a distance of 2,200 metres (approximately miles) at Hanshin Racecourse (阪神競馬場) in late June. It is one of the two "All-Star" races in Japanese horse racing; the other is the Arima Kinen (the Grand Prix) in late December. It was first run in 1960 with a distance of 1,800 metres. From 1961 to 1965 the race was run over 2,000 metres and since 1966 it has been run over its present distance. The race is run on the turf and is named after the city of Takarazuka, Hyōgo, the location of Hanshin Racecourse, which is the venue of the race. Daring Tact ( ja, デアリングタクト, link=no, foaled 15 April 2017) is a champion Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse who won the Japanese Fillies Triple Crown in 2020. After winning her only race as a two-year-old, she won the Elfin Stakes on her three-year-old debut and went on to record Grade 1 victories in the Oka Sho, Yushun Himba and Shuka Sho to complete the Japanese Fillies' Triple Crown. Uberleben, ( ja, ユーバーレーベン, link=no, foaled 27 January 2018) is a Japanese Thoroughbred racehorse. She showed promise as a juvenile in 2020 when she won on her racecourse debut and went on to finish second in the Sapporo Nisai Stakes and third in the Hanshin Juvenile Fillies.
