Vedat Kokona (August 7, 1913 – October 14, 1998) was an Albanian translator, writer and lexicologist of the 20th century, well known for his dual dictionaries English-Albanian and French-Albanian and his contributions in Albanian lexicology and lexicography. Early life Kokona was born on August 7, 1913, in Izmir, Ottoman Empire, to an Albanian intellectual family, originating from Gjirokastra, Albania. His father, Elmaz, was a lawyer and a judge of the Ottoman Empire. Upon the family moving to Albania in 1920, he followed the primary school in Tirana. He finished in 1935 the Albanian National lyceum of Korca, then pursued higher studies in law in Paris, France. Vedat Ademi (born 22 August 1982) is an Albanian singer-songwriter. He made his début in 2007 with "Më mashtruan sytë" at the 4th edition of Top Fest. However, he made the national breakthrough in 2011, after releasing his album ''Koha s'kthehet'' (Time doesn't return). His most successful song remains "Për ty", released in 2012. He played amateur football for Yücespor and Adaletspor before becoming a professional in 1965. Early life and education He was born in 1953 in the village of Kazancı in Bismil District of Diyarbakir Province. He graduated from the Literary department of the Vocational School in Diyarbakir in 1979. He became a founding member and delegate of the Diyarbakir branch of the Turkish Human Rights Association (IHD). Kurdish rights activist At the annual meeting of the IHD in October 1990, he gave the first public speech in Kurdish language in Turkey, which was forbidden.
