Vear
Vear is a village in Tønsberg Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located along the border with Sandefjord Municipality and along the Tønsbergfjorden, about to the southwest of the city of Tønsberg and about to the southeast of the village of Sem. The village lies along Norwegian County Road 303 between Melsomvik and Tønsberg. The village has a population (2023) of 3,683 and a population density of . History The village had historically grown up along border between Sem Municipality and Stokke Municipality, with certain parts of the village located on either side of the border, but the majority of the village was in Stokke. Stokke established an elementary- and middle school at Vear in 1974. Later, in 1988, Sem was merged into Tønsberg Municipality. In 1989, Tønsberg established an elementary school at Hogsnes. Sem or Semsbyen is a village in Tønsberg Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located about to the west of the city of Tønsberg. Tønsberg (), historically Tunsberg, is a city in Tønsberg Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. It is located about south-southwest of the capital city of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. The city is the most populous metropolis in Vestfold county. Tønsberg also serves as the administrative centre for Vestfold county and the seat of the County Governor of Vestfold og Telemark. Melsomvik is a village in Sandefjord Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located along the Tønsbergfjorden, about to the east of the village of Stokke. The small village of Storevar lies immediately to the south of Melsomvik. The village has a population (2022) of 2,067 and a population density of .
