Due South
''Due South'' is a Canadian crime comedy-drama television series created by Paul Haggis, and produced by Alliance Communications from its premiere on April 23, 1994, to its conclusion after four seasons on March 14, 1999. The series starred Paul Gross, David Marciano, Gordon Pinsent, Beau Starr, Catherine Bruhier, Camilla Scott, Ramona Milano, and Callum Keith Rennie. The show follows the adventures of Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Constable Benton Fraser, who first came to Chicago on the trail of the killers of his father, and has remained, attached as liaison with the Canadian Consulate. He works alongside a detective of the Chicago Police Department to solve crimes. Both are aided at times by Fraser's deaf white wolf, Diefenbaker. "Henry Martin" (also "Henry Martyn" or "The Lofty Tall Ship") (Roud 104, Child 167/250) is a traditional Scottish folk song about Henry Martin (formerly " Andrew Barton"), a seafarer who turns to piracy to support his two older brothers. Writing in 1975, the musician and folklorist A. L. Lloyd described Henry Martin as "one of the most-sung ballads of our time." The story of Andrew Bartin, based on the original ballad, was included in Francis James Child's collection of ''The English and Scottish Popular Ballads (Child's Ballads)'', as Child Ballad 167. The Northern Pikes
The Northern Pikes are a Canadian Rock music, rock band formed in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in 1984. The original members are Jay Semko, Bryan Potvin, Merl Bryck and Glen Hollingshead, who left the band in 1985 and was replaced by Jay Semko in June 1986. Rob Esch left after the second independent EP Scene In North America (1987?) The band was active until 1993 and toured and recorded again from 1999 through to the present. The Northern Pikes were inducted into the Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame on Sunday, September 30, 2012, in Regina, Saskatchewan. The band released its ninth record of original material, ''Forest of Love'', on June 7, 2019. "Smile" is a song based on the theme song used in the soundtrack for Charlie Chaplin's 1936 film '' Modern Times''. Background Chaplin, who composed the song with the help of composer David Raksin, was inspired by a sequence in the first act love duet from Puccini's opera ''Tosca'', beginning with Cavaradossi singing "Quale occhio al mondo può star di paro". Prospero ( ) is a fictional character and the protagonist of William Shakespeare's ''The Tempest''. Chinatown ( zh, t=唐人街) is the catch-all name for an ethnic enclave of Chinese people located outside Greater China, most often in an urban setting. Areas known as "Chinatown" exist throughout the world, including Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, and the Americas. The development of most Chinatowns typically resulted from human migration to an area without any or with few Chinese residents.
