Vaughn Taylor (golfer)
Vaughn Joseph Taylor (born March 9, 1976) is an American professional golfer who has played on the PGA Tour and Web.com Tour. Early life Taylor was born in Roanoke, Virginia. He was raised in Augusta, Georgia from infancy. He attended Hephzibah High School. Taylor played golf for Augusta State University where he was an honorable mention All-American his senior season. Professional career In 1999, Taylor turned professional. He played his early years on the Hooters and Nationwide Tours, getting valuable experience before playing his first full year with a PGA Tour card in 2004. He won four times on the NGA Hooters Tour, and once on the Nationwide Tour at the Knoxville Open. Taylor has three victories to his name on the PGA Tour; his first two victories coming in consecutive years at the Reno-Tahoe Open, an alternate event, in 2004 and 2005. Official World Golf Ranking
The Official World Golf Ranking is a system for rating the performance level of professional golfers. It was started in 1986. The rankings are based on a player's position in individual tournaments (i.e. not pairs or team events) over a "rolling" two-year period. New rankings are calculated each week. During 2018, nearly 400 tournaments on 20 tours were covered by the ranking system. All players competing in these tournaments are included in the rankings. In 2025, 24 tours factored into the world rankings. As well as being of general interest, the rankings have an additional importance, in that they are used as one of the qualifying criteria for entry into a number of leading tournaments. Turning Stone Resort Championship
The Turning Stone Resort Championship was a PGA Tour professional golf tournament, first played from September 20–23, 2007. It was hosted by the Atunyote Golf Club at Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York. In 2007, it was the first of the seven Fall Series events played after the conclusion of the FedEx Cup, which was introduced the same year. The prize fund was $6 million. The tournament's timing in the PGA Tour calendar changed in 2008: The 2008 Fall Series began before the conclusion of the FedEx Cup with the Viking Classic.
