Léon Vasseur
Félix Augustin Joseph Vasseur, known as Léon Vasseur (28 May 1844 – 25 May 1917), was a French composer, organist and conductor. While working as a cathedral organist, he turned to composing operettas and soon had a hit with ''La timbale d'argent'' (1872). He wrote another thirty operettas but never repeated that early success. He also composed church music including two settings of the mass. Jean-Luc Vasseur (born 1 January 1969) is a French professional football manager and former player who was most recently the manager of FA WSL club Everton. Career As a player, Vasseur played with Paris Saint-Germain, Stade Rennais, Saint-Étienne, Créteil, Racing Paris and FCM Aubervilliers. Cédric Vasseur (born 18 August 1970) is a French former professional road racing cyclist, and current general manager of UCI WorldTeam . As a rider, Vasseur competed between 1993 and 2007 for the Novemail–Histor, , , and squads. Vasseur was considered an all-rounder who could do well in a variety of races. Frédéric Vasseur (born 28 May 1968 in Draveil, Ile-de-France) is a French motorsport engineer and manager with a long career managing Formula-series teams. He was the managing director, CEO, and team principal of the Switzerland-based Alfa Romeo Racing. He was announced as the new team principal and general manager of Scuderia Ferrari in December 2022, replacing Mattia Binotto. Gaston Vasseur (1904–1971) was a French linguist. He obtained his PhD at the Sorbonne in 1948 (''Le parler picard de Nibas et sa grammaire''). Gaston Vasseur was born in Nibas (Somme) in 1904, and died in 1971. Gaston Vasseur was one of the masters of dialectology of Picard whom he greatly enriched by his work. Noel Le Vasseur
Noel Le Vasseur (December 25, 1798 – December 12, 1879) was a fur trader and merchant born in St. Michel d`Yamaska, Canada and died in Bourbonnais Grove, Illinois. In 1816, he became a voyageur. "John Jacob Astor furnished Mr. Le Vasseur with a stock of goods worth $6,000, which he used in trading with the Indians for furs." Le Vasseur travelled to Bunkum, Illinois in 1818, where he established a trading post for the American Fur Company. The post was placed under the supervision of Gurdon Saltonstall Hubbard, and when Hubbard left in 1827, Le Vasseur took over as his replacement. Le Vasseur also married Hubbard's ex-wife, Watseka (also called Watch-e-kee), the namesake of Watseka, Illinois He had three children with her, and learned to speak the Potawatomi language. Paul Henri Vasseur (10 October 1884 – 12 October 1971) was a French freestyle swimmer and water polo player. He competed in water polo at the 1900, 1912 and 1920 Summer Olympics and finished in third, fifth and ninth place, respectively. At the 1906 and 1920 Games he took part in the 4 × 200 m, 400 m and one mile swimming events, but failed to reach the finals. Vasseur is the youngest Olympic bronze medalist in water polo. Peter Le Vasseur (born 1938) is an artist from Guernsey. Le Vasseur was born in Guernsey in 1938 but evacuated to London during World War II. His art began as a youngster, copying pictures from comics and his talent was noticed by his school teacher. He was later admitted to Harrow Art College. Isabelle Vasseur (born 10 April 1959) is a former member of the National Assembly of France. She represented Aisne's 5th constituency from 2007 to 2012, as a member of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP). She was elected on 17 June 2007 to the thirteenth legislature (2007–2012) in the 5th district of l'Aisne by beating, in the second round, Dominique Jordain with 53.96% of the votes.
