Vasily Dimitrievich Dimitriev (January 11, 1924, Novoye Syurbeevo, Tsivilsky District, Chuvash Autonomous Okrug, USSR - January 8, 2013, Cheboksary, Russia) - Soviet and Russian archaeologist, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor. Honored Scientist of the RSFSR (1980). Member of the Archaeographic Commission of the USSR Academy of Sciences (since 1968). Biography and scientific activity Born into a peasant family. After graduating from Churachik secondary school, he entered the history and philology department of the Chuvash State Pedagogical Institute.
