''Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum'' () is a 1999 Indian Malayalam-language drama film directed by Vinayan based on a screenplay by J. Pallassery. The film features Kalabhavan Mani, Kaveri, Praveena and Sai Kumar in the lead roles. The film centers around Ramu, a blind poet and singer who supports his family. However, their happiness dissipates soon after he gets cheated by a rich businessman turned politician. The film is reported to be inspired from '' Dosti'' (1964). The film was a commercial success and ran for more than 150 days in theatres. The film won two National Film Awards, the Best Male Playback Singer for M. G. Sreekumar and the Special Jury Award for Kalabhavan Mani and Mani also received the Special Jury Award at the Kerala State Film Awards for his performance in the film. Krishna Kumar (born 12 June 1968) is an Indian actor and politician who appears in Malayalam cinema, Malayalam-language films and television, in addition to a few Tamil cinema, Tamil-language films. Meghanathan
Meghanathan (November 1964 – 21 November 2024) was an Indian actor who appeared in Malayalam and Tamil films. The son of actor Balan K. Nair, he debuted in 1983 in the Malayalam film '' Asthram''. He acted in more than 50 Malayalam films. Biography Meghanathan was born as the third child of Malayalam actor Balan K. Nair and Sarada Nair in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He had two brothers (Anil and Ajayakumar) and two sisters (Latha and Sujatha). He had his primary education from Asan Memorial Association, Chennai, and completed Diploma in Automobile engineering from Coimbatore. He made his debut through the Malayalam film '' Ashthram'' in 1983. Meghanathan was married to Susmitha. The couple had a daughter, Parvathi. They settled in Shoranur, Palakkad. Janardhanan Pillai (born 5 May 1946), also known as Janardhanan Nair, is an Indian actor, producer and a former Indian Air Force personnel who predominantly acts in Malayalam films. ''Namma Preethiya Ramu'' () is a 2003 Indian Kannada-language drama film directed by Sanjay-Vijay duo. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film ''Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum'' (1999). It stars Darshan playing the eponymous character of a blind village singer, along with Navya Natarajan, Hamsavijetha, Doddanna and Umashree in other prominent roles.
