Vasant Kanetkar
Vasant Shankar Kanetkar (20 March 1922 – 31 January 2000) was an Indian Marathi-language playwright and novelist from Maharashtra. He was born in the town of Rahimatpur in Satara District, Maharashtra. His father, Shankar Keshav Kanetkar, was a poet who wrote poetry under the pen name ''Kavi Girish'' and was a founding member of a circle of poets named ''Ravikiran Mandal''. Vasant Kanetkar was educated in Pune and Sangli. After passing M.A. exam in 1948 from Sangli, he joined as a lecturer in Nashik in 1950. He received wide admiration from the audience after his play 'Raigadala Jevha Jag Yete' (रायगडाला जेव्हा जाग येते). He kept the Marathi commercial theatre vibrant and live for more than two decades. Five of his plays received best play award of the year given by Maharashtra State Government. Rahimatpur is a city and a municipal council in Satara district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Rahimatpur has an average elevation of 657 metres (2155 feet). Lekure Udanda Jahali
''Lekure Udanda Jahali'' (Marathi: लेकुरे उदंड जाहली), (English: Bumper Crop of Kids), is a 1966 Marathi play by Vasant Shankar Kanetkar. The name refers to a stanza from Dasbodh by Samarth Ramdas. Versions Lekure Udand Jhaali is a Vasant Kanetkar play which has been revived twice. The first revival was in the 70's by The Goa Hindu Association. The first show of the revived version was conducted on 25 May 1973 at Sahitya Sangh Mandir at Girgaon. It completed over 1000 shows. The play was redesigned by Premanand Polle for Kala Academy - Goa's Repertory company (Rang Mell) in 2004. Dr. Saish Deshpande composed all the songs in modern fusion genre and were performed live on recorded tracks. ''Aansoo Ban Gaye Phool'' () is a 1969 Hindi movie directed by Satyen Bose. The film stars Ashok Kumar, Nirupa Roy, Pran, Helen, Deb Mukherjee and Alka in lead roles. Shivaji
Shivaji I (Shivaji Shahaji Bhonsale, ; 19 February 1630 – 3 April 1680) was an Indian ruler and a member of the Bhonsle dynasty. Shivaji carved out his own independent kingdom from the Sultanate of Bijapur that formed the genesis of the Maratha Empire. In 1674, he was formally crowned the ''Chhatrapati'' of his realm at Raigad Fort. Shivaji offered passage and his service to the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb to invade the declining Sultanate of Bijapur. ''Ashroonchi Zhali Phule'', also known as ''Ashrunchi Jhali Phule'' ( English: Tears Turned Into Flowers), is a Marathi play by Vasant Shankar Kanetkar.
