Varawut Silpa-archa (; ) is a Thai politician and current Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (Thailand), Minister of Social Development and Human Security under the Srettha cabinet, coalition government of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin since 1 September 2023. Previously, he served as Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (Thailand), Minister of Natural Resources and Environment in the Second Prayut cabinet, second cabinet of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. Early life and education Varawut Silpa-archa was born on 11 July 1973 at Bang Khun Phrom Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok. He is the youngest son of Banharn Silpa-archa, a former leader of the Chart Thai Party, and former Prime Minister of Thailand with Khunying Jamsai Silpa-archa. Somchai Wongsawat (, ; born 31 August 1947) is a Thai politician who briefly served as the prime minister of Thailand in 2008. He is a former executive member of the People's Power Party (PPP) whose political rights were disenfranchised by the Constitutional Court for five years. Prior to entering electoral politics, he had served civil service and judicial service, having been appointed Permanent Secretary of Justice (the highest non-elected position in the civil service) in 2000 by the government of Chuan Leekpai. Suphan Buri (, ) located in the central region of Thailand, is one of the country's 76 provinces (จังหวัด, changwat), the first-level administrative divisions. Neighbouring provinces are (from north clockwise) Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom and Kanchanaburi.
