Varavu Nalla Uravu
''Varavu Nalla Uravu'' () is a 1990 Indian Tamil-language drama film, written and directed by Visu and produced by Kavithalayaa Productions. The film stars Visu, Annapoorna, Rekha, Vidhyashree, Kishmu and Ilavarasan. It is about two contrasting families with its patriarchs being best friends. While one family is a happy one to start with, the other is a machine-like family devoid of love. The film was remade into Telugu as ''Dabbu Bhale Jabbu'' and in Malayalam as ''Achan Kombathu Amma Varampathu''. It is loosely based on the 1937 film ''Make Way for Tomorrow''. Visu was awarded for Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Story Writer. Plot Ambalavanan (Visu) has lived and worked in Marakkanam all his life. Meenakshisundaram Ramasamy Viswanathan (1 July 1945 – 22 March 2020), best known by his stage name Visu, was an Indian writer, director, stage, film and television actor and talk-show host. Visu initially worked as an assistant to director K. Balachander until becoming a director himself. He later began acting, with his first film being ''Kudumbam Oru Kadambam'' (1981), directed by S. P. Muthuraman. Career He started his career as a theatre artist, working with Y. G. Parthasarathy's drama troupe. He was writing scripts for stage dramas before getting into the film industry as an assistant to legendary director K. Balachander. Pyramid Natarajan is a former Indian actor and producer, who has appeared in character roles in Tamil cinema. He made his breakthrough as an actor playing a role in Mani Ratnam's ''Alaipayuthey'' (2000) portraying the role of Madhavan's father, before playing the antagonist in several films. Vasudevan (15 June 1944 – 20 February 2011), known as Malaysia Vasudevan, was a Malaysian-Indian playback singer and actor in Tamil cinema. Early life Malaysia Vasudevan's parents were from Palakkad. Chattu Nair of Ottappalam and Ammalu of Polpulli, along with their families migrated to British Malaya in search of a livelihood. After a few years, Chattu Nair married Ammalu in an arranged marriage. Vasudevan was born on 15 June 1944 as their eighth and youngest child.
