Riverside Drive (List of numbered routes in Ottawa, Ottawa Road #19) is a major road in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that follows along the eastern bank of the Rideau River. Its northern terminus is at the Transitway (Ottawa), Transitway/Via Rail underpass just south of the Queensway (Ottawa), Queensway, and the road proceeds south to Limebank Road where it continues as River Road until the city limits. North of the Queensway, Riverside continues as Vanier Parkway, which travels through Vanier, Ontario, Vanier until Beechwood Avenue. The Vanier Parkway name is linked to the neighbourhood of Vanier, Ontario, Vanier, which was named for former Governor General of Canada Georges Vanier. Terry Fox Athletic Facility
Terry Fox Stadium, also known as the Terry Fox Athletic Facility is an athletic field in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, named after cancer research activist Terry Fox. It has a regulation-size natural grass soccer field, surrounded by a 400-metre track. Surrounding the track are bleachers with a capacity of approximately 2,000. It is located in Mooney's Bay Park, on the west side of Riverside Drive, south of Heron Road, which is south of downtown Ottawa. The stadium hosted the track and field events at the 2001 Francophone Games. It has hosted the Pan American Combined Events Cup since 2012. Hurdman station is a major station on Ottawa's O-Train Line 1, and bus rapid transit (BRT) system, Transitway. Location The station is located southeast of Hurdman Bridge, and south of where Highway 417 crosses the Rideau River. It is also located near the intersection of Industrial Avenue and Riverside Drive/Vanier Parkway. There are connections from Hurdman station to the nearby neighbourhood of Riverview to the east, with a bus-only road connecting to Alta Vista Drive. There are also connections for bicycle users, as Hurdman station is located near to the Rideau River bicycle path. Greely, Ontario
Greely is a suburban-rural community in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Located south of the city in Osgoode Ward, it was part of the Township of Osgoode prior to amalgamation in 2001. Greely is currently the largest rural village in terms of land area and the third largest in terms of population in the City of Ottawa. According to the Greely Community Association, it is bounded on the east by Sale Barn Road and Greyscreek Road, on the north by Mitch Owens on the west by Manotick Station Road, and on the south by Snake Island Road. According to the Canada 2011 Census, the population within these boundaries was 9,049. Greely falls within the borders of the federal parliamentary riding of Carleton. Riverside South, Ottawa
Riverside South is a suburban community in Gloucester-South Nepean Ward in the south end of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, just southwest of Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport. Prior to amalgamation in 2001, the area was located in the city of Gloucester. Its population, according to the Canada 2021 Census, was 19,802. In the early 1990s this area was mostly vacant with a few houses and some farms. The first homes in the community were built in 1996. Since then, there has been extensive housing development that seems to be growing at the pace of other major suburban communities in the region, such as Barrhaven, Kanata and Orléans. A dead end, also known as a ''cul-de-sac'' (; , ), a no-through road or a no-exit road, is a street with only one combined inlet and outlet. Dead ends are added to roads in urban planning designs to limit traffic in residential areas. Some dead ends prohibit all-through traffic, while others allow cyclists, pedestrians, or other non-automotive traffic to pass through connecting easements or paths. Riverview (also known as Riverview Park) is a neighbourhood in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is southeast of the downtown adjacent to the Rideau River, its location on which is its namesake. Alta Vista Drive
Alta Vista Drive is a suburban road in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and is the main north-south street in the city's Alta Vista Ward. It runs from Bank Street in the south to Industrial Avenue in the north covering the neighbourhoods of Ridgemont, Alta Vista and Riverview. Alta Vista was created as the result of major residential developments (notably the Rideau Park and Alta Vista subdivisions) in the region following World War II.
