''La Doña'' is an American drama television series filmed entirely in Mexico, and created by José Vicente Spataro for Telemundo. The series is based on the 1929 novel of Venezuelan writer Rómulo Gallegos titled ''Doña Bárbara'', which most recent version was, ''Doña Bárbara'', starred Edith González.
