Vanchykivtsi Rural Hromada
Vanchykivtsi (; ) is a village in Chernivtsi Raion, Chernivtsi Oblast, Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Vanchykivtsi rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. It was historically a part of Bessarabia. Until 18 July 2020, Vanchykivtsi belonged to Novoselytsia Raion. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Chernivtsi Oblast to three. The area of Novoselytsia Raion was split between Chernivtsi and Dnistrovskyi Raions, with Vanchykivtsi being transferred to Chernivtsi Raion. Vanchykivtsi is home to the recently remodeled historical Orthodox church Saint Vasily's. Dnistrovskyi Raion
Dnistrovskyi Raion () is a raion (district) of Chernivtsi Oblast, Ukraine. It was created on 18 July 2020 as part of the reform of administrative divisions of Ukraine. It is part of the historical region of Bessarabia. The center of the raion is the rural settlement of Kelmentsi. Three abolished raions, Kelmentsi, Khotyn, and Sokyriany Raions, part of abolished Novoselytsia Raion, as well as the city of Novodnistrovsk, which was previously incorporated as a city of oblast significance, were merged into Dnistrovskyi Raion. The name of the raion is derived from the Dniester river. Serafim Saca (16 March 1935 – 20 May 2011) was a writer from Moldova. Oazu Nantoi
Oazu Nantoi (born 3 February 1948) is a Moldovan politician and political analyst serving as member of Parliament of Moldova since 2019. Biography Oazu Nantoi was born to Orthodox Christian Romanian parents from the Vanchykivtsi () village in the Hotin County, Romania. However, Nantoi himself was born during the Soviet period. According to the Soviet policy regarding most ethnic Romanians living in the USSR, he was registered as ethnic Moldovan. His birth certificate is in Ukrainian as, following the Allied victory in WW II, the Soviets had annexed and incorporated the region in Ukrainian SSR. While in high school, Nantoi's mother was into Indian epic literature and decided that when she got married and had a son, she would name him Oazu. Nantoi's father was the school master and his mother was a teacher with the local village school. Călin Alupi
Călin Alupi (July 20, 1906 – September 19, 1988) was a Romanian Post-Impressionism, Post-Impressionist painter, cited along with Corneliu Baba and Alexandru Ciucurencu as one of the greatest Romanian painters of the period. Biography Alupi was born in Vanchykivtsi, Vancicăuții Mari, at the time in the Bessarabia Governorate, the son of two peasants, Teodor and Antonina Alupi. His father died in World War I, while fighting in Galicia (Eastern Europe), Galicia as a soldier in the Imperial Russian Army. Călin Alupi attended high school in Șendriceni, where his desire to paint was sparked at age 13 by his teacher, Nicolae Popovici Lespezi. In 1925 he entered the George Enescu National University of Arts, School of Fine Arts in Iași, where he was mentored by Ștefan Dimitrescu. Novoselytsia Raion (, ) was a raion (administrative district) in Chernivtsi Oblast, (province) in the west of Ukraine. The western part of its territory lied in the historical region of Bukovina, the eastern part in Bessarabia, while one village (Boianivka) was part of the Hertsa region. In Ukraine, a hromada () is the main type of municipality and the third level Administrative divisions of Ukraine, local self-government in Ukraine. The current hromadas were established by the Cabinet of ministers of Ukraine, Government of Ukraine on 12 June 2020. A municipality is designated ''urban hromada'' if its administration is located in a city; ''settlement hromada'' if it is located in a settlement (''selyshche''), and ''rural hromada'' if it is located in a village (Village#Ukraine, ''selo'') or a ''selyshche''.
