Lonnie Lee Van Zandt
Lonnie Lee Van Zandt (1937–1995) was a professor of physics at Purdue University in Indiana, USA. Van Zandt participated in the formation of the molecular biology, molecular biological physics group at Purdue and studied the dynamics of dissolved DNA polymers. He also performed pioneering research on the effect of microwaves on DNA. His PhD thesis in Physics at Harvard University focused on the "Effects of Static Spin Density Waves on Electron Transport". Billy Van Zandt
William Van Zandt (born December 13, 1957) is an American playwright and actor, and author. He is the author of the theatrical memoir ''Because It's Funny!'' and the TV memoir ''Get in the Car, Jane!: Adventures in the TV Wasteland''. Early life Van Zandt was born in Red Bank, New Jersey, to Mary H. Lento and William Brewster Van Zandt. He is of Dutch descent. He grew up in Middletown Township, New Jersey. Career Van Zandt is the co-author and star of the Off-Broadway plays ''You've Got Hate Mail'', ''Silent Laughter'', ''Drop Dead!'', ''The Boomer Boys Musical,'' and 21 other theatrical plays written with Jane Milmore, including ''A Night at the Nutcracker'', ''Wrong Window,'' and summer stock perennial ''Love, Sex, and the I.R.S.'' Marie Van Zandt
Marie van Zandt (October 8, 1858 – December 31, 1919) was an American dramatic soprano. Early years Born in New York City, van Zandt was the daughter of Jennie van Zandt, who had sung at La Scala and at New York's Academy of Music (New York City), Academy of Music. She studied in Milan with Francesco Lamperti, making her debut as Zerlina in ''Don Giovanni'' in Turin in 1879. Career Successful appearances followed her debut, including at Covent Garden in 1879. However, at that time, it was necessary to make official debuts in Paris. So she left for Paris in 1880 where her mother, who had acquaintances in Parisian high society, managed to introduce her daughter to professionals. Van Zandt, who was only 21, signed a contract with the Opéra-Comique in 1880, making her debut as ''Mignon''. Van Zandt County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas, in the northeastern part of the state. As of the 2020 census, its population was 59,541. Its county seat is Canton. The county is named for Isaac Van Zandt (1813–1847), a member of the Congress of the Republic of Texas. History Van Zandt County is commonly known as the Free State of Van Zandt. The title was particularly prevalent through the Reconstruction Era, but is still in use today. Many versions of the county's history may account for this moniker, and historians, even within the county and throughout its existence, do not agree how exactly it became known as the Free State. Van Zandt, Washington
Van Zandt is an unincorporated community in Whatcom County, in the U.S. state of Washington. There is a community hall, a park, a cemetery, a volunteer firehouse, and a church located there. The community is rural, with most residents working in agriculture or lumber. The community also lends its name to the nearby Van Zandt Dike and Van Zandt Creek. History A post office called Van Zandt was established in 1892, and remained in operation until 1955. J. M. Van Zandt, the first postmaster who homesteaded there in 1883, gave the community his name. Since the post office shut down, the community now relies on the post office in Deming for its mail. A schoolhouse was built in 1925, and while it still stands today, it is in disrepair. Currently it serves as a community hall and a radio station hosting KAVZ-LP. Tim Van Zandt (born September 17, 1963) is a nurse, former accountant and former politician from the U.S. state of Missouri. A Democrat, he served eight years in the Missouri House of Representatives representing Kansas City and became the first openly gay member ever elected to the Missouri General Assembly. Born in Lexington, Missouri, he graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a B.S.E. in Accounting/Political Science and from the Bloch School at the University of Missouri–Kansas City with an M.P.A. in Health Care Administration.
