Valur Orri Valsson
Valur Orri Valsson (born 15 June 1994) is an Icelandic basketball player for the Keflavík of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla. Playing career Playing the point guard position, Valur started is senior team career in 2009 at the age of 14 with Njarðvík before moving to FSu and later Keflavík. During the 2015–16 regular season, he posted career highs of 12.9 points and 5.5 assists per game, good for fourth best in the league. He played college basketball for Florida Tech from 2016 to 2020. Despite having to sit out his first season with the team due to his age, he became the schools all-time leader in assists in 2020. After his college career ended, he announced he would return to Iceland to finish the 2019–20 season with Keflavík. Valur Ingimundarson
Valur Snjólfur Ingimundarson (born 20 February 1962) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach. He played for 20 seasons in the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild and is its highest scoring player of all time. He won the Icelandic championship eight times during his career and the Icelandic Cup twice. Denmark Valur was a player-coach for Odense BK from 1995 to 1998 and helped the club achieve promotion up two levels in two seasons and to the Danish top-tier league in 1997. He left Odense after the 1997-1998 season and to over as head coach for Tindastóll. 2019–20 Úrvalsdeild Karla (basketball)
The 2019–20 Úrvalsdeild karla was the 69th season of the Úrvalsdeild karla, the top tier men's basketball league in Iceland. The season started on 3 October 2019. On 13 March 2020, with each team having one game left, the season was postponed for at least four weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic in the country. On 18 March, the rest of the season was canceled. Fjölnir was relegated and Stjarnan was named divisional champions for having the best record at the time of the cancelation but no national champions would be named for the season. Competition format The participating teams first played a conventional round-robin schedule with every team playing each opponent once home and once away for a total of 22 games. Keflavík Men's Basketball
The Keflavík men's basketball team, commonly known as Keflavík, is the men's professional basketball department of Keflavík ÍF (Keflavík, íþrótta- og ungmennafélag), based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. They currently play in Úrvalsdeild karla. Rivalry with Njarðvík Keflavík's biggest rivals are their closest neighbours, Njarðvík. The teams are both based in Reykjanesbær. Keflavík and Njarðvík were neighbouring towns but were merged in 1994 and formed Reykjanesbær. Their arenas are within one kilometre of each other. In the 2008–09 season the rivalry was intensified as the men's teams were coached by brothers, Sigurður Ingimundarson with Keflavík and Valur Ingimundarson with Njarðvík.
