Value Alliance was an airline alliance formed in May 2016. The alliance was the second commercial airline alliance that comprised low-cost carriers, after the U-FLY Alliance. It is the first pan-regional LCC alliance. It comprises five, originally eight, Asia-Pacific airlines: Cebu Pacific, Cebgo, Jeju Air, Nok Air and Scoot. Value Alliance was the fourth-largest airline alliance in terms of passengers, flights, destinations, combined fleet and members, ahead of U-FLY Alliance and Vanilla Alliance. According to the Wayback Machine, the Value Alliance website was found to have been shut down since some day between May 19 and August 15, 2023, with a message saying "This website is no longer supported. An airline alliance is an aviation industry arrangement between two or more airlines agreeing to cooperate on a substantial level. Alliances may provide marketing branding to facilitate travelers making inter-airline codeshare agreement, codeshare connections within countries. This branding may involve unified Aircraft livery, aircraft liveries of member aircraft. In 2015, Star Alliance was the largest with 23% of total scheduled traffic in Passenger#Revenue passenger kilometres, revenue passenger kilometres (RPKs)/revenue passenger miles (RPMs), followed by SkyTeam with 20.4% and Oneworld with 17.8%, leaving % for others. A low-cost carrier (LCC) or low-cost airline, also called a budget, or discount carrier or airline, is an airline that is operated with an emphasis on minimizing operating costs. It sacrifices certain traditional airline luxuries for cheaper fares. To make up for revenue lost in decreased ticket prices, the airline may charge extra fees, such as for carry-on baggage.
