Valler videregående skole (The ''Valler Upper Secondary School'') is an upper secondary school located in Sandvika near Oslo, Norway. History The school dates back to 1888 and was established under the name Bærum Middelskole. The classes were taught at Valler farm during the first years, but was later moved to Sandvika. Sandvika
Sandvika () is the administrative centre of the municipality of Bærum in Norway. It was declared a city by the municipal council in Bærum on 4 June 2003. Sandvika is situated approximately west of Oslo. It is the main transportation hub for Western Bærum, and has a combined bus and railway station. Sandvika is also one of the stops along the route of the Airport Express Train. Sandvika also has Scandinavia's largest super mall, Sandvika Storsenter, with 190 stores and a total area of . Simen Agdestein
Simen Agdestein (born 15 May 1967) is a Norwegian chess grandmaster, chess coach, author, and former professional footballer as a striker for the Norway national football team. Agdestein won eight Norwegian Chess Championships between 1982 and 2022. He is also the former coach of Magnus Carlsen, and brother of Carlsen's manager, Espen Agdestein. He has authored and co-authored several books on chess, including a biography of Carlsen. Borghild Tenden
Borghild Tenden (born 23 June 1951) is a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. She was born in Stryn. After finishing her secondary education in 1970, she studied for two years at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences and four years at the University of Oslo. Graduating as a teacher, she worked at Valler Upper Secondary School from 1978 to 1993 and also took further courses in law and sociology. From 1993 to 1996 she held a job as adviser to the Liberal Party parliamentary caucus, and from 1996 to 2005 she worked as an informational adviser in Parliament. Standing for political election, she served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Akershus from 1997 to 2001, and was elected as a full representative in 2005. Jostein Gaarder (; born 8 August 1952) is a Norwegian intellectual and author of several novels, short stories, and children's books. Unni Lindell
Unni Maria Lindell (born 3 April 1957 in Oslo) is a Norwegian writer. She is best known for her crime novels (whodunits), but has also written a collection of poems and several children's and young adult books. Lindell worked as a journalist before she became an author. Her first book ''Den grønne dagen'' ("The green day") was published in 1986. One of Lindell's most prominent characters is detective Cato Isaksen. Some of the Isaksen books have been adapted as TV films starring Reidar Sørensen. Lindell was awarded the Mads Wiel Nygaards Endowment in 1998 and the Critics' Prize for the year's best children's or youth literature. Harald Meldal Eia (born 9 February 1966) is a Norwegian comedian, and sociologist. In recent years, Eia has also made TV-documentaries and written books.
