Vallensbæk Municipality
Vallensbæk Municipality () is a municipality ( Danish: '' kommune'') in the Capital Region of Denmark on Zealand. It is part of the Greater Copenhagen area and consist primarily of the suburb of Vallensbæk. It is one of the smallest municipalities in Denmark in terms of area. Vallensbæk Municipality borders the municipalities of Ishøj, Høje-Taastrup, Albertslund and Brøndby. It borders Køge Bay, and the Køge Bay Beach Park (Danish: ''Køge Bugt Strandpark'') along the coast. The suburb of Vallensbæk consists of two sections, not directly connected to each other: '' Vallensbæk Nordmark'' in the north and '' Vallensbæk Strand'' in the south. The two parts of the town are commonly referred to together as Vallensbæk. The only other settlement in the municipality is the village of '' Vallensbæk Landsby''. Municipalities Of Denmark
Denmark is divided into five regions of Denmark, regions, which contain 98 municipalities (, ; , ). Albertslund Municipality
Albertslund Municipality () is a municipality in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 23,04 km2, and has a population of 28,117 (1. January 2025). Its mayor is Steen Christiansen, a member of the Social Democrats (''Socialdemokraterne'') political party. As of 2010 the social democrats have 9 of the 21 seats in the city council. The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town of Albertslund. The original name of the municipality was Herstedernes Kommune. In 1973 the name was changed to Albertslund Kommune. The name Herstederne represents the two communities of Herstedvester and Herstedøster which were the original villages in the area together with Vridsløse and Risby. Vallensbæk Railway Station
Vallensbæk station is an S-train railway station serving the suburb of Vallensbæk Strand southwest of Copenhagen, Denmark. The station is located on the Køge radial of Copenhagen's S-train network. It serves the southern end of Vallensbæk Municipality, whereas the northern part of the municipality is better served by Albertslund railway station on the Høje Taastrup radial. Albertslund
Albertslund is a Copenhagen suburb in Albertslund Municipality, Denmark. It is located west of central Copenhagen, with a population of around 30,000. Albertslund is a planned community or new town mainly built in the 1960s and 1970s. The suburb is known for its experimental and innovative low rise urban planning, integrating water and green spaces in the architecture. 1970 Danish Municipal Reform
The 1970 Danish Municipal Reform was an extensive administrative reform in Denmark which on 1 April 1970 reduced the number of Danish municipalities from 1,098 to 277 and the number of counties from 25 to 14. The reform also abolished the last legal privileges of the market towns ( sing. Danish: ''købstad''). The 1970 reform was followed by another municipal reform in 2007, namely the Structural Reform. This reform would further reduce the number of municipalities in Denmark, and replace the counties with regions. A fief (; ) was a central element in medieval contracts based on feudal law. It consisted of a form of property holding or other rights granted by an overlord to a vassal, who held it in fealty or "in fee" in return for a form of feudal allegiance, services or payments. A syssel is a historical type of country subdivision in Denmark and elsewhere in Scandinavia.
