Valentin Velcea
Valentin Adrian Velcea (born 5 September 1973 in Sadova) is a retired Romanian football midfielder and manager. Club career Politehnica Timișoara Velcea started football in Timișoara and made a name for himself while at Politehnica. He was a very technical midfielder with good passing and long shots. He stayed at the club most of his career, swapping to Gloria Bistriţa in 1999 where he scored three goals, before returning to the Politehnica Timișoara in 2004. He retired after being deemed a surplus to the team requirements by Gheorghe Hagi in 2006. Coaching career Politehnica Timișoara Velcea was assistant manager from 2006 to 2009 when he was promoted to Politehnica II Timișoara before he returned as assistant in 2010 after poor results. He also was two times caretaker manager and plays two Cupa României finals after Alin Artimon resigned and Gabi Balint was sacked just one week before the final. The 2012–13 Liga II is the 73rd season of the Liga II, the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The first two teams in each series will promote at the end of the season to the Liga I, and the last five in each series will relegate to the Liga III, instead of three, like the previous season, because the 2013–14 season will have 2 series of 14 teams each. 2011–12 Liga II
The 2011–12 Liga II was the 72nd season of the Liga II, the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The league structure had two series of 16 teams each. The first two teams in each series were promoted and the last three in each series were relegated. The season began on August 20. Teams Three of the five relegated teams from the previous Liga I season, Timișoara, Gloria Bistrița and Unirea Urziceni, did not apply for a Liga II license. The latter club was dissolved, while the first two appealed the relegation decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport and did not to apply for Liga II licenses. Previously they were denied Liga I licenses for the 2011–12 season and were relegated, despite finishing on non-relegating spots. Their cases were dismissed by the CAS on July 18. The 1994–95 Divizia B was the 55th season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format has been maintained to two series, each of them having 18 teams. At the end of the season, the winners of the series promoted to Divizia A and the last two places from both series relegated to Divizia C. The Liga 2, most commonly spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07 football season. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company under the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Since its inception in 1934, Liga II has had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. But since the 2016–17 Liga II, 2016-17 Liga II, it changed to one group of 20 teams. Currently, the top six teams goes in the promotion play-off, in which the top 2 teams get promoted and the next 2 play a promotion play-off against teams from Liga I.
