Val Pellice
The Pellice (in Piedmontese ''Pélis'') is a Italian torrent, which runs through the Metropolitan City of Turin. The stream is a tributary of the Po River, into which it flows near Villafranca Piemonte. Geography The stream is formed at the western slope of Monte Granero in the Cottian Alps and initially runs northwards, before turning east and reaching the ''comune'' of Bobbio Pellice. After receiving the waters of several torrents, such as the Ghiacciard, it forms the Val Pellice. Other streams flowing into the Pellice in its later course include the Angrogna and the Chiamogna, near the town of Bricherasio. After the end of its mountain course, the torrent, after Bricherasio, receives the waters of the Chisone between Cavour and Vigone, doubling its average discharge. It reaches the Po River at Villafranca. Monviso
Monte Viso or Monviso (; ; or simply ) is the highest mountain of the Cottian Alps, located in Piedmont, Italy, close to the French border. Monte Viso is well known for its pyramid-like shape. Because it is higher than all its neighbouring peaks by about 500 m, it can be seen from a great distance, including from the Piedmontese plateau, the Langhe, the Theodulpass in the Zermatt ski area, the Col du Galibier and the summits of the Mont Blanc massif. On a very clear day, it can be seen from the spires of Milan Cathedral. The Istituto Geografico Centrale (IGC, in English ‘’Central Geographic Institute’’) is a privately owned Italian company based in Turin (Piedmont), known for its guide books and hiking maps mainly concerning the Western Alps and their contiguous areas. Cavour (; from the Piedmontese toponym, ''Cavor'' ; ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located about southwest of Turin. Chisone
The Chisone (in Piedmontese ''Chison'' or ''Cleson'') is a Italian torrent, which runs through Pragelato, Fenestrelle, Perosa Argentina and Pinerolo in the Metropolitan City of Turin. It is a tributary of the Pellice, which in turn is a tributary of the river Po. Although classified as a torrent, there is no period of the year at which the Chisone runs dry. Geography The stream is formed at the foot of Monte Barifreddo in the Cottian Alps and initially runs north-northwest through the Parco Naturale della Val Troncea. The course then follows a semi-circular path through the Val Chisone passing to the east, the north and then to the west of Monte Albergian.
