Vagif Rakhmanov
Vagif Rakhmanov (; 1940) is an Azerbaijani sculptor and graphic artist, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan (1981), and recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award in Arts and Culture awarded by the Consulate of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan. In March 2018 Rakhmanov was awarded the President's Highest Honour Medal by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev for his contribution in sculpture to the arts and culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Biography Vagif Rakhmanov was born on March 12, 1940, in the Mardakan township near Baku to goldsmith Yusuf Oglui and Hadisha Rahmanzadeh. He was the youngest of ten siblings in a family of artists, sculptors, musicians and architects. Vagif Rakhman graduated with A Master of Fine Arts Degree from Surikov Moscow University of Fine Arts in 1970. Mardakan (, ) is a settlement and municipality in Khazar Rayon of Baku, Azerbaijan, located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, with a population of 32,084. Ilham Aliyev
Ilham Heydar Oghlu Aliyev (born 24 December 1961) is an Azerbaijani politician who has been the fourth president of Azerbaijan since 2003. He is also the leader of the New Azerbaijan Party since 2005. Maral Rahmanzadeh
Maral Yusif gizi Rahmanzadeh (; 23 July 1916 – 18 March 2008) was a Soviet and Azerbaijani graphic artist and painter. She was awarded the honorary title of People's Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1964), and recipient of the State Prize. Biography Maral Rahmanzadeh was born in Mardakan, Russian Empire (now Azerbaijan). From 1930 to 1933 she studied at the Azerbaijan State Technical School of Arts and from 1934 to 1940 she continued her education at the Moscow State Institute of Arts. In 1940, after graduating from the institute, the master of graphic arts started working at the "Khudozhestvennaya Literatura" publishing house in Moscow. In 1941, the artist's father was subjected to repression and declared an enemy of the people. Six months later, he passed away in a Tashkent prison. M.
