Vadyar Boats Pvt. Ltd. is a Chennai based boat manufacturer and marine service provider. History and current activities M/s Vadyar Boats was established modestly at Chennai in 1969 by Late Shri P.A. Ramakrishnan, a renowned naval architect, first generation entrepreneur and social worker. It is a family owned concern and pioneer in the manufacture of FRP (fibre-reinforced plastic) Lifeboats in India. Started initially with supply of wooden Fishing and small FRP Lifeboats and during this period M/s Shipping Corporation of India, largest public sector shipping company started replacing Metal with FRP Lifeboats on their ships. Vadyar-class Interceptor Craft
{{Use Indian English, date=July 2019 The Vadyar-class interceptor crafts are a series of eight rigid collar high speed boats designed and supplied to the Indian Coast Guard in 1988 certified by the Indian Register of Shipping for patrolling off the Rameswaram coast in Southern India. The hulls of each boat in the series have a length of 6.2 to 7.0 m with a beam of 2.1 m and draft of 0.45 m. Praga Marine Pvt. Ltd. is a fiberglass boat manufacturing company. It owns a boatyard, located in the backwaters of Cochin at Aroor Industrial Development Area, Allappuzha District It was incorporated in 1985 and commenced business from that boatyard in 1988. It is promoted by Joe Nejedly. His father Josef Nejedly, a Prague-born Czech national was a pioneer of the fibre glass industry in India during the 1960s. Products Praga Marine manufactures various types of fibre-reinforced plastic boats such as rigid-hulled inflatable boats, catamarans and sailboats. The company specializes in large catamarans.
