''V Empire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein'' is the first EP by English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth, and the first release following their 1994 debut studio album ''The Principle of Evil Made Flesh''. It was released on 22 April 1996, and was the band's final release for Cacophonous Records. Recording ''V Empire'' was hastily written and recorded for Cacophonous Records as a contractual obligation before the band jumped ship to Music for Nations. As such, it is the first of two albums released in 1996, the other being '' Dusk... and Her Embrace''. Half of the band was replaced for this recording, with Stuart Anstis replacing guitarists Paul Allender and Paul Ryan and Damien Gregori replacing keyboardist Benjamin Ryan. All the guitars on ''V Empire'' were performed by Anstis. The name "Jared Demeter" listed as a second guitarist in the liner notes included in the booklet of the EP is just a made-up name to give the impression that there were two guitarists on the EP. ...

Cradle of Filth are an English extreme metal band formed in Suffolk in 1991. The band's musical style evolved originally from black metal to a cleaner and more "produced" amalgam of gothic metal, symphonic metal and other metal genres. Paul Allender
Paul James Allender (born 17 November 1970) is an English guitarist, best known for his work with the English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. He was a longtime member with stints in the band from 1992 to 1995 and then again from 1999 to 2014. Nicholas Howard Barker (born 1973) is an English extreme metal drummer best known for his work in Cradle of Filth from 1993 to 1999, Dimmu Borgir from 1999 to 2004, Brujeria from 2003 to 2005 and from 2016 to 2022, and Shining from 2022 to 2023. Currently he is the drummer for Borstal, Liquid Graveyard, Twilight of the Gods, and United Forces. Biography Barker was born on 25 April 1973. His career started as a touring drum tech for Cancer, for whom he filled in on drums at live shows when Carl Stokes suffered an injury in 1993. Robin Mark Eaglestone (born 1976) is an English musician. Biography He was the bassist for the extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. Also known as Robin Graves, he joined Cradle of Filth in 1992 as 2nd guitarist for the recording of the ''Invoking the Unclean'' demo then later changed to bass for the ''Total Fucking Darkness'' demo.
