VH1 Mega Hits
VH1 MegaHits was a Latin American pay television music channel. It was owned by ViacomCBS Networks Brazil, subsidiary of ViacomCBS Networks Americas and aired music videos throughout its entire day. VH1 MegaHits featured four different blocks of programming: ''In Motion'', ''Nothing But Classics'', ''VH1 Shuffle'' and ''Moods''. It was somewhat equivalent to MTV Hits in its programming style, though the latter also featured artists interviews and album/music video recording featurettes, whereas VH1 MegaHits was completely dependent on music videos. The network launched as MTV Hits in Brazil on 22 June 2005, and was re-branded as VH1 MegaHits on 29 January 2010 after a local re-configuration of Viacom's domestic properties in Brazil. In Brazil, by decision of Viacom, the channel was manually replaced by MTV Live HD on 31 July 2020 in most TV providers that didn't have the channel yet. Comedy Central is a Latin American pay television channel, owned by Paramount Networks Americas. It was launched on 1 February 2012. History Before Comedy Central was launched in Latin America MTV and VH1 aired Comedy Central programming back in the 2000s to 2012, like ''South Park'' or '' Drawn Together''. The channel was launched on 1 February 2012 by Viacom International Media Networks The Americas and its website was launched on 11 November 2011, two months before the official start of the channel. VH1 Brasil
VH1 Brasil was a music channel from Viacom-owned Viacom International Media Networks The Americas. The network was launched in November 2005 on some cable systems, but it was not until May 2006 that it was launched on DirecTV Brazil, replacing MTV Latin America. It targets 25- to 44-year-olds and plays local and international music videos from the 1970s to the 2000s. It also airs famous "Top 20" and "Top 40" countdowns from VH1 USA. At its launch, VH1's Celebreality shows, such as '' The Surreal Life'', '' Breaking Bonaduce'', '' My Fair Brady'', '' Supergroup'' and '' So NoTORIous'', were not aired on VH1 Brasil, yet they did air on its sister network, VH1 Latin America. VH1 (originally an initialism for Video Hits One) is an American basic cable television network that launched on January 1, 1985, and is currently owned by the MTV Entertainment Group unit of Paramount Global's networks division based in New York City. The network was originally owned by Warner-Amex Satellite Entertainment; a division of Warner Communications, and the original owner of sister channel MTV at the time. It was launched in the channel space of the Turner Broadcasting System's short-lived Cable Music Channel. VH1 was originally conceived to build upon the success of MTV by playing music videos targeting a slightly older demographic focusing on the lighter, softer side of popular music. Like MTV, VH1 ultimately drifted away from music and into reality television programming; albeit with a focus on music personalities, celebrities, and shows targeting African-American audiences. La Roux ( ) is an English synth-pop act formed in 2008 by singer Elly Jackson and record producer Ben Langmaid. The act's debut album '' La Roux'' (2009) was a critical and commercial success, winning a Grammy Award and producing hit singles such as " In for the Kill" and " Bulletproof". Recording of a follow-up album was marred by unsuccessful collaborations, the cancellation of two planned release dates, and reported conflict between the duo. The 2020 MTV Video Music Awards were held on August 30, 2020. Keke Palmer hosted the 37th annual ceremony, which was presented primarily from New York City, but with a virtual ceremony due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lady Gaga was the most awarded act of the night with five awards, as well as the most nominated alongside Ariana Grande, with both artists receiving nine nominations each. Gaga was presented with the inaugural MTV Tricon Award for achievements in three or more fields of entertainment. MTV Hits Latin America was a 24-hour non-stop contemporary hit music channel from ViacomCBS Networks Americas that debuted in 2008. The format of the network resembles that of the classic MTV Latin America before the addition of other programming to that network in the 2000s and their slow decline of music video programming. The network had a schedule consisted of only videos, interrupted by promotional advertising for MTV Latin America and limited commercials on the network. Like the other digital MTV/VH1 channels, MTV Hits Latin America used to be based on an automated wheel schedule introduced in the first years of MTV2 in the US. This practice, though, has now been reduced, with five themed zones - namely ''MTV Hits Playlistism'', ''Hitlist'', ''Biggest! Hottest!
