VANT Echar
Vant (stylised as VANT) are a British indie rock band formed in 2014 by frontman and songwriter Mattie Vant. In 2015, Vant signed to Parlophone Records. The band announced an "indefinite hiatus" in 2017 to take effect at the end of their Last Days of Punk tour during November. The band released a new song, "Propaganda Machine" in December 2018 and teased new music in 2019. Background The band came together in London, while Mattie was working at Dalston venue, Birthdays. Originally from Seaham, Mattie has played in various bands, formulating the style for Vant while living in Brighton. A lot of Vant's lyrical themes deal with political issues, with Mattie citing inspiration from global issues; "My concerns are worldwide things. It's not strictly centred around the UK - it's wars, global conflict, global warming". Annie Mac
Annie Macmanus (born 18 July 1978), known professionally as Annie Mac, is an Irish DJ, broadcaster and writer. She hosted a variety of shows on BBC Radio 1, including BBC Switch and ''Future Sounds''. She also DJed in various locations, including hosting her AMP (Annie Mac Presents) Lost and Found venues in places like Ibiza. Personal life Macm was born in Dublin, Ireland, on 18 July 1978, and has three siblings. Her brother, Davey Macmanus, was the lead singer and guitarist in bands the Crocketts and the Crimea. Parlophone Records Limited (also known as Parlophone Records and Parlophone) is a record label founded in Germany in 1896 by the Carl Lindström Company as Parlophon. The Hours (band)
The Hours are an English rock band, formed in 2004 by Antony Genn and Martin Slattery. Career Antony Genn got his start as a 16-year-old joining Pulp and went on to play with Elastica and Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros. He went on to co-write a number of songs with Robbie Williams, Josh Homme, Brian Eno, Ian Brown from The Stone Roses, Scott "Walker" Engel, Jarvis Cocker, Lee Hazlewood and others, along with writing and producing scores for film and television. Martin Slattery is an established pianist and keyboard player, who had previously toured with Shaun Ryder's group Black Grape. Yuck (band)
Yuck was a British rock band from London that formed in 2009. The band was founded by vocalist-guitarists Daniel Blumberg and Max Bloom after they both left the band Cajun Dance Party, alongside bassist Mariko Doi and drummer Jonny Rogoff. The band's self-titled debut album was released through Fat Possum on 21 February 2011 in the United Kingdom. Lead vocalist Blumberg left Yuck in 2013, and Bloom took over the position beginning with the band's second album. Critics have likened Yuck to bands such as Dinosaur Jr., The Smashing Pumpkins, Pavement, My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth. Big Deal were a pop/rock band composed of Kacey Underwood and Alice Costelloe. Underwood was raised near Yucca Valley in California while Costelloe came from an artistic household in London. They rose to prominence following the release of their second album ''June Gloom'' which received airplay on BBC 6Music in 2013.
