Uyyale
''Uyyale'' ( ) is a 1969 Kannada language romantic drama film directed by N. Lakshminarayan and starring Rajkumar and Kalpana. The film is a screen adaptation of the novel of the same name written by the novelist Chaduranga (Subramanyaraja Urs). The film presents a delicate tale of the extra-marital love of a woman neglected by her husband reflecting the social and moral laws of married life. Radha is the second wife of an extremely negligent Shesha. However, when Krishna, Shesha's cousin, enters her life, they form a unique bond with each other. Besides writing the story, Chaduranga also wrote the dialogues for the film and won Karnataka State Film Award for the year 1979 for this story. The soundtrack and original score composed by Vijaya Bhaskar was widely acclaimed and appreciated. Chaduranga
Subramanyaraje Urs (1916 – 19 October 1998), known by his pseudonym Chaduranga, was an Indian writer in Kannada language. He wrote four novels—''Sarvamangala'', ''Uyyale'', ''Vaishakha'', and ''Hejjala''—and a few other short stories. Chaduranga directed the on-screen version of '' Sarvamangala'' in 1968 while ''Uyyale'' was made into a movie of same name in 1969. Vijaya Bhaskar
Vijaya Bhaskar (; 1924 – 3 March 2002) was an Indian music director and composer who composed music for several mainstream and experimental feature films in the Kannada film industry. Scoring music for over 720 films, Bhaskar worked in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Tulu and Konkani language films as well. He had a noted association with directors including KSL Swamy (Ravi), Puttanna Kanagal, Adoor Gopalakrishnan and a long association with singers including P. Susheela and Vani Jairam. Influenced by R C Boral and Mukul Mehta, Bhaskar developed his own style of music and introduced the concept of theme music in Kannada film industry. He is credited for inspiring producers to select popular works of Kannada poets through his music. Geethapriya
Lakshman Rao Mohite (15 June 1932 – 17 January 2016), better known by his pen-name Geethapriya, was an Indian film director and lyricist of the Kannada film industry. He has directed 40 films and penned over 250 songs in Kannada films. In 1992–93, he was awarded the Puttanna Kanagal Award for his contribution to Kannada cinema as a director. Early life Geethapriya was born as Lakshman Rao Mohite in 1931, to Ramarao Mohite and Lakshmibai. His father worked for the cavalry regiment of Mysore State Troops called Mysore Lancers, which was stationed in Bangalore. Even though his mother tongue was Marathi, he was always interested in the Kannada language and was admitted to a Kannada-medium school. The poet P. T. Leelavathi (actress)
Leena Sequeira (1937 – 8 December 2023), known mononymously as Leelavathi, was an Indian actress, producer who worked predominantly in Kannada and Tamil films, in addition to few Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Tulu films. After having her stint at the theatre, Leelavathi made her film debut in a small role as child artist in '' Nagakannika'' (1949). She went on to act in more than 600 films (more than 400 in Kannada alone) throughout her career spanning over five decades. Kalpana (Kannada Actress)
Kalpana (18 July 1943 – 12 May 1979), born Lata, was an Indian actress who appeared in Kannada films. She was affectionately referred to as ''Minugu Taare'' ("A Shining Star") among the film fraternity. She was widely recognised as one of the greatest actresses of Kannada cinema who enjoyed both fan following and critical acclaim. She made her screen debut as a lead actress in the 1963 release '' Saaku Magalu'' directed by veteran B. R. Panthulu. During a career that spanned from the early 1960s to the late 1970s, Kalpana appeared in numerous commercially successful as well as critically appreciated films, many of which featured her alongside actor Rajkumar. Vijaya Naarasimha (16 January 1927 – 31 October 2001) was an Indian lyricist who worked in Kannada cinema. Career Naarasimha's first Kannada film song was "Yee Dehadinda Dooranaade" (Oh soul, why did you depart this body) for the 1956 film '' Ohileshwara''. He worked with filmmaker Puttanna Kanagal and music director Vijaya Bhaskar. He worked with major singers and music directors throughout the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, including on some Kannada films with Tamil actor Rajinikanth. His last film was'' Odahuttidavaru''.
