Uvira General Referral Hospital
Uvira General Referral Hospital (French: ''Hôpital Général de Référence d'Uvira'') is a medical center located in Uvira, in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As a general hospital, it provides a broad spectrum of medical services, including primary, secondary, and tertiary care. The hospital's services include emergency care, surgical procedures, maternal and pediatric services, and treatment for various medical conditions. In partnership with the German government, facilitated through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Medeor Action, the Women's Association for the Promotion and Endogenous Development (AFPDE) launched the construction of mortuaries at the hospital in March 2013. The Ministry of Public Health () is the health ministry of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It has a public health system based loosely on the historical Belgian colonial public health system. The ministry is largely a policy and oversight organization, with operational functions embodied within a number of subordinate ministry organizations, including the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Institute of Biomedical Research (''Institut National de Recherché Biomédicale'') and the Kinshasa School of Public Health. Fizi Territory
Fizi Territory is a territory located in the southern part of South Kivu Province, in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It spans an area of approximately 15,864 square kilometers and shares borders with Uvira Territory to the north, Mwenga and Shabunda territories to the west, Kalemie Territory of Tanganyika Province to the south, and Lake Tanganyika to the east, beyond the Ubwari Peninsula. The territory is predominantly inhabited by the Bembe people, although it is characterized by considerable ethnocultural diversity. Smaller ethnic communities such as the Babuyu, Babwari, and Bazoba also reside in various villages throughout the territory. Sange is a village located in the Kigoma ''groupement'' (grouping), within the Bafuliiru Chiefdom of Uvira Territory in South Kivu Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is situated 24 km (15 miles) from the Burundian border, at 1,021 meters altitude.
