Uttam Kumar was an Indian film actor, director, producer and singer who predominantly worked in Cinema of India, Indian Cinema. Through his career he earned commercial as well as critical success, and he remains as an Bengal's cultural icon. For the various type of role playing ability, Kumar regarded as one of the greatest and most versatile actor in the history of Indian Cinema and called as ''Mahanayak''. Kumar was the most popular and successful actors in Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali Cinema history. He debut as Arun Kumar Chatterjee as child artist in 1948 film ''Drishtidan, Drishtidaan'' directed by Nitin Bose. The film was unsuccessful. Next year he appeared as a leading hero as Uttam Chatterjee in the film ''Kamona, Kamona 1949'' which was flop again. He changed name again as Arup Kumar. Chhabi Biswas (''Chabi Biśbās'') (13 July 1900 – 11 June 1962) was an Indian actor, primarily known for his performances in Tapan Sinha's '' Kabuliwala'' and Satyajit Ray's films ''Jalshaghar'' (''The Music Room'', 1958), ''Devi'' (''The Goddess'', 1960) and '' Kanchenjungha'' (1962). Asit Baran (19 November 1913 – 27 November 1984) was an Indian actor, singer and theater personality. Early life Asit Baran was born as Asit Baran Mukherjee in 1913 in Kolkata, British India. His nickname was Kalo. He took up a job in the telegraph workshop at Alipore. He learnt Tabla from Jnan Prakash Ghosh and joined in Akashbani Kolkata as Tabla player. While performing Tabla in All India Radio Music Conference, actor Pahari Sanyal impressed on him. Asit Baran often called upon to sing at various music functions in Kolkata.
