Utsubo Tennis Center
The Utsubo Tennis Center is a tennis complex situated in the Utsubo Park, Nishi-ku, Osaka, Japan. The complex was the host of the HP Open (WTA International tournaments) from 2009 through 2014. HP Open
The Japan Women's Open Tennis is a professional women's tennis tournament played on Hard court, outdoor hard courts. The event is affiliated with the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), and is an WTA 250 tournaments, WTA 250 tournament on the WTA Tour. As successor to the Japan Open (tennis), Japan Open (where men and women played simultaneously, up to 2008) the event was held in women-only form for the first time in 2009 WTA Tour, 2009, and was the second tournament of the season held in Japan: the Pan Pacific Open, a WTA Premier tournaments, Premier 5 tournament, was held two weeks before. Utsubo Park
is a large public, urban park, situated at Utsubo-Hommachi in Nishi-ku, Osaka, Japan. The park was constructed at the site of a former air field of the United States Army, so the land is a long rectangle shape characteristic of a runway (700m x 150m). This place was one of the busiest fish wholesale markets (Zakoba fish market and Utsubo dried fish market), from Edo period until 1931, at that time a new wholesale market was opened at Fukushima ward. The Utsubo Tennis Center occupies a large area of the western part of the park. Some international tennis tournaments have been held there. The most famous one is the '' HP Open'' and '' World Super Junior Tennis Championships''. Around the eastern part of this park, many cafes and bakery have opened after 1990.
