Utica Reds
The Utica Pent-Ups (alternately, the Pentups) were a professional baseball team based in Utica, New York, that played in the International Association for the 1878 season, the National Association in 1879, and different incarnations of the New York State League. The Pent-Ups were members of the first New York State League (which became the International League in 1886) from 1885 to 1887, the second from 1889 to 1890, and the third from 1898 to 1909. Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each, taking turns batting and fielding. The New York Giants were a Major League Baseball team in the National League that began play in the season as the New York Gothams and became known as the Giants in . George Burns (outfielder)
George Joseph Burns (November 24, 1889 – August 15, 1966) was an American left fielder in Major League Baseball who spent most of his career as the leadoff hitter for the New York Giants.
