State Route 112 (SR-112) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Utah. It is approximately long and connects Tooele and Grantsville in Tooele County. It also provides access to the Tooele Army Depot. Route description From its western terminus at SR-138 (Main Street) just east of Grantsville, the route starts out as 800 East, going south and quickly turns to the southeast. It continues in this direction for several miles meeting, and then running along the northeast boundary of the Tooele Army Depot. About from its end, the route turns to the east along 1000 North in Tooele and continues east until its terminus at SR-36 (Main Street). History The route was designated on May 12, 1931, as the road from Tooele at SR-36 northwest to Grantsville at then SR-2 (now SR-138). Grantsville is the second most populous city in Tooele County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 12,617 at the 2020 census. The city has grown slowly and steadily throughout most of its existence, but rapid increases in growth occurred during the 1970s, 1990s, and 2010s. Tooele County ( ) is a county in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 58,218. Its county seat and largest city is Tooele. Tooele Army Depot
Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) is a United States Army Joint Munitions Command post in Tooele County, Utah. It serves as a storage site for war reserve and training ammunition. The depot stores, issues, receives, renovates, modifies, maintains and demilitarizes conventional munitions. The depot also serves as the National Inventory Control Point for ammunition peculiar equipment, developing, fabricating, modifying, storing and distributing such equipment to all services and other customers worldwide. State Route 138 is a highway, completely within Tooele County in northern Utah that connects Grantsville to Erda and Stansbury Park. The route runs twenty miles (32 km) and is the old routing of U.S. Route 50 Alternate and U.S. Route 40. Route description From its western terminus at exit 84 of I-80, northeast of the Stansbury Mountains, the route heads southwest (toward the mountain range), reaching the mining operation of Flux, then turns southeasterly. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) (), nicknamed the Recovery Act, was a stimulus package enacted by the 111th U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Barack Obama in February 2009.
