Utah Army National Guard
The Utah National Guard comprises both Army National Guard, Army and Air National Guard components. The United States Constitution, Constitution of the United States specifically charges the National Guard with dual federal and state missions. The National Guard is the only United States military force empowered to function in a state status. The Utah Army National Guard maintains 30 armories in 27 communities. The Utah Army National Guard is a component of the United States Army and the United States National Guard. A distinctive unit insignia (DUI) is a metallic Heraldry, heraldic badge or device worn by soldiers in the United States Army. The DUI design is derived from the coat of arms authorized for a unit. DUIs may also be called "distinctive insignia" (DI) or, imprecisely, a "Crest (heraldry), crest" or a "unit crest" by soldiers or collectors. The 300th Military Intelligence Brigade (Linguist) is a United States Army formation, subordinate to the United States Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM). It is part of the Utah Army National Guard and headquartered at the Utah National Guard Headquarters building in Draper, Utah. Formed in 1988 from the 142nd Military Intelligence Battalion, the 300th provides linguistic support to the U.S. Army throughout the world.
