Meitetsu Nagoya Line
The or Nagoya Line is a railway line operated by the private railway operator Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu), connecting Toyohashi Station in Toyohashi, Aichi, Toyohashi with Meitetsu Gifu Station in Gifu, Gifu, Gifu. Since its amalgamation in 1944, this has been the Meitetsu main line. Many branch lines of Meitetsu have through services to/from the Nagoya Line. Toyohashi Station
is an interchange railway station in Toyohashi, Aichi, Japan, operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Tōkai) and the private railway operator Nagoya Railroad (Meitetsu). Lines Toyohashi Station is served by the high-speed Tokaido Shinkansen, and the conventional Tokaido Main Line operated by JR Central. It is from Tokyo Station. It is also the southern terminus of the Iida Line and is form the northern terminus at Iida Station. The station is also a terminus for the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line. Side Platform
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Side platforms may result in a wider overall footprint for the station compared with an island platform, where a single width of platform can be shared by riders using either track. In some stations, the two side platforms are connected by a footbridge or tunnel to allow safe access to the alternate platform.
