Uroš Blažić
On the evening of 4 May 2023, a shooting spree occurred in the villages of Dubona and Malo Orašje, between Mladenovac and Smederevo, Serbia. Armed with an automatic assault rifle, the shooter opened Drive-by shooting, fire from a car, resulting in the deaths of nine individuals, including an off-duty police officer, and leaving twelve others injured. The perpetrator, 20-year-old Uroš Blažić, fled the scene but was apprehended the next day near Kragujevac. Following the incident, Blažić's father, uncle, and first cousin were also taken into custody, facing charges related to criminal possession of a weapon. The uncle and first cousin were tried separately from the rest. First cousin was found guilty and sentenced to 18 months in prison, while uncle was acquitted. Žitište Shooting
On 2 July 2016, a Serbian man killed five people and injured twenty-two others after he opened fire with an assault rifle in a café in the village of Žitište, in the Central Banat District of Vojvodina, Serbia. The perpetrator was later identified as Siniša Zlatić ( sr-Cyrl, Синиша Златић). Shooting On the nights of 1 July 2016 and 2 July 2016, Zlatić visited a café during a local festival, where he noticed his estranged wife with a group of friends. He returned home and retrieved an AK-47 assault rifle he illegally owned. He then returned to the café and at about 1:40 a.m. local time started shooting into the air. The attacker then shot his wife and another woman dead before randomly shooting other diners in the café, killing three men and injuring 22 other people. Velika Ivanča Shooting
A spree shooting occurred in the Serbian village of Velika Ivanča in the early hours of 9 April 2013. Thirteen people were killed and one, the gunman's wife, was injured. Police identified the gunman as 60-year-old Ljubiša Bogdanović, a relative of many of the victims. Bogdanović died of his injuries two days later on 11 April 2013. Jabukovac Killings
The Jabukovac killings occurred on 27 July 2007, when Nikola Radosavljević killed nine neighbours and wounded five more in the Serbian village of Jabukovac (). Shooting On 27 July 2007, Radosavljević had lunch with his wife Jelena, who just came from Vienna that day, in Jabukovac (). At around 17:00, they had an argument, which ended with Radosavljević hitting his wife and breaking her nose and jaw. He left her on the floor and went outside. 2023 Serbian Protests
In May 2023, a series of mass protests began in Belgrade and other locations in Serbia, following Belgrade school shooting, a school shooting in Belgrade and Mladenovac and Smederevo shootings, a spree shooting near Mladenovac and Smederevo. Belgrade School Shooting
On 3 May 2023, a school shooting occurred at Vladislav Ribnikar Model Elementary School in the Vračar municipality of Belgrade, Serbia. The shooter, identified as 13-year-old Kosta Kecmanović, mass shooting, opened fire on students and staff, resulting in the deaths of ten individuals, including nine students and a security guard. Six others, five students and a teacher, also sustained injuries. Kecmanović surrendered willingly and was taken into custody.
