Daniel Domingo Salamanca Urey (8 July 1869 – 17 July 1935) was a Bolivian lawyer and politician who served as the 33rd president of Bolivia from 1931 to 1934. He was overthrown in a ''coup d'état'' on 27 November 1934, during the country's disastrous Chaco War with Paraguay. Bolivian historians have referred to him as "El Hombre Símbolo" (the symbolic man), as a president who carefully cultivated an appearance of integrity and nationalism. Political career Born in Cochabamba, Salamanca studied law at the Higher University of San Simón, before being elected to Bolivia's Chamber of Deputies in 1899 for the Liberal Party. Harold Urey
Harold Clayton Urey ( ; April 29, 1893 – January 5, 1981) was an American physical chemist whose pioneering work on isotopes earned him the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1934 for the discovery of deuterium. He played a significant role in the development of the Nuclear weapon, atom bomb, as well as contributing to theories on the Miller–Urey experiment, development of organic life from non-living matter. Born in Walkerton, Indiana, Urey studied thermodynamics under Gilbert N. Lewis at the University of California, Berkeley. After he received his PhD in 1923, he was awarded a fellowship by the American-Scandinavian Foundation to study at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen. He was a research associate at Johns Hopkins University before becoming an associate professor of chemistry at Columbia University. Urey Fedorovich Lisianski
Yuri Fyodorovich Lisyansky (; ; – 6 March 1837) was an explorer and officer in the Imperial Russian Navy. He served as a volunteer in the British Royal Navy and later headed the first Russian circumnavigation aboard the ''Neva''. He was also among the early western explorers to visit Easter Island. Biography The birthplace of Yuri Lisyansky is not known with certainty, because his birth records are not preserved. However it is assumed that he was born in in Nizhyn, Cossack Hetmanate, Russian Empire (now Ukraine), into the family of an Orthodox priest. Urey Woodson
Urey Woodson (August 16, 1859 - August 7, 1939) was a Kentucky Democrat and a newspaper editor and publisher. Biography He was the Kentucky railroad commissioner from 1891 to 1895. He was a member of Democratic National Committee from Kentucky from 1896 to 1912, from 1916 to 1918, and from 1924 to 1928. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention from Kentucky in 1932. A Presbyterian, he died on August 7, 1939, and was buried in Elmwood Cemetery in Owensboro, Kentucky. Urey (crater)
Urey is a Lunar craters, lunar impact crater located in the narrow niche of terrain between the western halves of the craters Rayleigh (lunar crater), Rayleigh and Lyapunov (crater), Lyapunov. It lies near the east-northeastern limb of the Moon, and thus appears very foreshortened when viewed from the Earth. The rim of Urey has outward bulges along the western and southeastern sides. There are no notable craters along the rim or inner wall. However, there are a few small craterlets on the interior floor, including a crater at the northern end of the central ridge. This range of low hills divides the floor in half, running north–south for a distance of about one third the crater diameter. This crater was previously designated Rayleigh A, a satellite of Rayleigh, before being given its current name by the International Astronomical Union, IAU. References

Urey Instrument
The Urey instrument, or Urey: Mars Organic and Oxidant Detector was a developmental spacecraft instrument for detecting organic compounds including amino acids. Overview It was funded by NASA and tested in the Atacama Desert in the early 2000s. Urey was selected by NASA for further development in support ExoMars or any future Mars mission that could use Urey along with Mars Organic Molecule Analyzer, or Moma in 2007, funded with 1.5 million USD total (750k each). Urey was a suite of instruments that built on 15 years of research into detecting organic molecules. Urey is a design for in situ biomarker detection, and it was tested in the early 2000s. The device would also study the mysterious oxidants in Mars regolith.
