''Unleashed'' is the third studio album by American Rapping, rapper Bow Wow (rapper), Bow Wow. It was released on August 19, 2003, by Columbia Records. Recording sessions for the album took place from 2002 to 2003. The album features guest appearances from Amerie, Birdman (rapper), Baby, Mario (American singer), Mario and Jagged Edge (American group), Jagged Edge, with its Record production, production handled by Bink!, The Neptunes, Jazze Pha, Swizz Beatz and Lil Jon, among others. It is Bow Wow's only album without assistance or production from his mentor Jermaine Dupri, and the first album where he dropped the 'Lil' from his stage name after his film debut in ''Like Mike'' (2002). Bow Wow (rapper)
Shad Gregory Moss (born March 9, 1987), better known by his stage name Bow Wow (formerly Lil' Bow Wow), is an American Rapping, rapper and actor. His career began upon being discovered by rapper Snoop Dogg in 1993 at the age of six; five years later, he signed with record producer Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Recordings, an imprint of Columbia Records. As Lil' Bow Wow, he released his debut studio album, ''Beware of Dog (album), Beware of Dog'' (2000) at age 13, and his second album, ''Doggy Bag'' (2001) the following year. Both met with commercial success, the albums peaked at numbers 10 and 11 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200, respectively. Moss then parted ways with So So Def and signed with its parent label, Columbia Records, to release his third album, ''Unleashed (Bow Wow album), Unleashed'' (2003). Jagged Edge (American Group)
Jagged Edge is an American R&B group from Atlanta, Georgia. The group, initially signed to record producer Jermaine Dupri's So So Def Recordings, is best known for their string of hit singles including " Let's Get Married" and " Where the Party At" (featuring Nelly), most of which were produced by Dupri. The group's members include identical twin lead singers Brian and Brandon Casey as well as Richard Wingo and Kyle Norman. The group's debut album, '' A Jagged Era'' (1997), performed modestly at the time of its release but achieved gold status; however, their subsequent albums until 2007 all became commercial successes—debuting within the top 10 of the ''Billboard'' 200. "Basketball" is a rap song written by William Waring, Robert Ford, Kurtis Blow, J. B. Moore, Jimmy Bralower, and Full Force and recorded by Kurtis Blow, released in 1984 from his album '' Ego Trip''. Song history According to Blow, the idea for the song came from his then-girlfriend (whom he later married), who told him, "You need to make a song about basketball, it's the No. 1 sport for African-Americans and nobody has done it yet." Twenty-five famous basketball players are mentioned during the recording. Waring was primarily responsible for choosing which players would be mentioned in the song, but Blow specified that his favorite player, Julius "Dr. J" Erving, would be mentioned first.
