União Brasil
The Brazil Union () is a liberal-conservative political party in Brazil. The party was founded on 6 October 2021 through the merger of the Democrats (DEM) and the Social Liberal Party (PSL). The merger resulted in the biggest party in Brazil, and was approved by Brazil's Superior Electoral Court on 8 February 2022. The party is generally split on opposition to Jair Bolsonaro and is most often in opposition to the policies of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, nominating Soraya Thronicke for president in 2022 Brazilian general election. In 2022, it was reported the party is in talks with the Progressistas to form the largest bloc in Congress, forming a party that could dictate presidential policy. Luciano Caldas Bivar (born 29 November 1944) is a Brazilian politician and businessman. He is current a Deputy for Pernambuco as well as leader of the Brazil Union. Previously he was Social Liberal Party presidential candidate for the 2006 Brazilian general election. He received 0.06% of the total vote and did not progress to the second round. National Renewal Alliance
The National Renewal Alliance ( Portuguese: ''Aliança Renovadora Nacional'', ARENA) was a far-right political party that existed in Brazil between 1966 and 1979. It was the official party of the military dictatorship that ruled Brazil from 1964 to 1985. ARENA was part of a two-party system enforced by the dictatorship instituted in 1966, where only it and the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB) — the "consented opposition" — were allowed. Democratic Social Party
The Democratic Social Party (, PDS) was a conservative Brazilian political party. It was established in 1979 as a continuation of the National Renewal Alliance (ARENA), the political wing of the military during the 1965–79 military dictatorship, at a time in which the country was moving away from authoritarianism. However, the official foundation date is 31 January 1980. In 1985, when Paulo Maluf won the party's nomination for the presidential bid, a huge group, led by José Sarney (former leader of ARENA from 1971 to 1980 and of the PDS from 1980 to 1985), Jorge Bornhausen and Marco Maciel, founded the Liberal Front Party (PFL). Soraya Vieira Thronicke (born 1 June 1973) is a Brazilian politician and lawyer. She has spent her political career representing Mato Grosso do Sul, having served as senator for that State since 2019. Political career In the 2018 Brazilian general election, Thronicke, along with Nelsinho Trad, was elected to the national senate from the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
