The University of Wuppertal (''Universität Wuppertal'') is a German scientific institution located in Wuppertal in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The university's official name in German is ''Bergische Universität Wuppertal'' or ''BUW'', founded in 1972. Around 2014 to 2015, approximately 20,000 students were enrolled in a wide range of subjects with many interdisciplinary linkages between a total of seven faculties. Karl-Heinz Petzinka
Karl-Heinz Petzinka (born 7 January 1956) is a German architect, and Rector of the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. He is known for office buildings in Düsseldorf and Berlin. He converted historic industrial buildings, and was responsible for the section architecture for the Ruhr.2010 project. Career Born in Bocholt, Petzinka studied architecture at the RWTH Aachen from 1976 and graduated in 1982 with the academic degree of Diplom-Ingenieur. In 1981, he received the North Rhine-Westphalia state's Förderpreis for young artists in the field of architecture. The ''CHE University Ranking'' () is an annual ranking of German universities and colleges. It is a subject-specific, multidimensional system aimed at providing information for students, with its main emphasis on teaching, rather than research. The ''Academic Ranking of World Universities'' (''ARWU''), also known as the Shanghai Ranking, is one of the annual publications of world university rankings. The league table was originally compiled and issued by Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2003, making it the first global university ranking with multifarious indicators. The ''Times Higher Education World University Rankings'', often referred to as the THE Rankings, is the annual publication of university rankings by the ''Times Higher Education'' magazine. The publisher had collaborated with Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) to publish the joint ''Times Higher Education–QS World University Rankings, THE-QS World University Rankings'' from 2004 to 2009 before it turned to Thomson Reuters for a new ranking system from 2010 to 2013. Godela Habel (18 September 1929 – 12 February 2022) was a German painter and artist. Life and work Godela Habel was born in Deutsch Krone, Posen-West Prussia, Weimar Germany on 18 September 1929. She studied from 1950 to 1953 at the art schools of Wuppertal and Hanover, focusing on painting and graphic design. She is known for her paintings and collages. She combined the methods of drawing and painting in her occasionally secretive work and made allowance for individual associations and interpretations. Christian Boros (born 1964) is a German advertising agency founder and art collector, who owns an art gallery in a former bunker in Berlin. Early life Christian Boros was born in Zabrze, Poland in 1964. His family moved from Poland to Cologne, West Germany, in order to escape communism. Boros earned a degree in communication design from the University of Wuppertal, Germany. He wrote his thesis on the aesthetic of the evil characters in James Bond. Dieter Vieweger, a Biblical scholar and Prehistoric Archaeologist, was born in Chemnitz, East Germany in 1958. He studied Theology (Old Testament Studies) and Prehistoric Archaeology in Leipzig and Frankfurt am Main. After that he held a number of distinguished research and educational positions.
