Dropkick Murphys
Dropkick Murphys are an American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1996. The current lineup consists of co-lead vocalist and bassist Ken Casey, drummer Matt Kelly, co-lead vocalist Al Barr (on hiatus from the band since 2022), rhythm and lead guitarist James Lynch, lead guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Tim Brennan, multi-instrumentalist and rhythm guitarist Jeff DaRosa and bassist Kevin Rheault. Casey has been the band's only constant member since the band formed. The band was initially signed to independent punk record label Hellcat Records; they released five albums for the label and built a reputation around New England and the East coast through persistent touring. They expanded their schedule to include national and international tour dates, and began a tradition of yearly St. Patrick's Day week shows, held in and around Boston. Agnostic Front
Agnostic Front is an American hardcore punk band from New York City. Founded in 1980, the band is considered an important influence on the New York hardcore scene, as well as a pioneer of the crossover thrash genre. History First era (1980–1992) Formed in 1980 with Vincent "Vinnie Stigma" Capuccio (formerly of the Eliminators) on lead guitar, with Diego on bass, Rob Krekus (aka Robby Crypt Crash) on drums and John Watson on vocals. Despite being billed at their first concert as the Zoo Crew, Stigma introduced them as Agnostic Front, saying that the poster had been made prior to deciding on the name. They soon added Ray Barbieri, aka Raybeez, on drums and Adam Mucci on bass. Punk rock (also known as simply punk) is a rock music genre that emerged in the mid-1970s. ''The Gang's All Here'' is the second studio album by the American Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys, released on March 16, 1999, through Hellcat Records. It is their first album with Al Barr (ex-vocalist for The Bruisers), who replaced founding singer Mike McColgan in 1998. It would be the last full album to feature guitarist Rick Barton, who left the band in 2000 during the recording of '' Sing Loud, Sing Proud''. "10 Years of Service" was the album's only single; the music video received some minor airplay on MTV's ''120 Minutes'', a first for the band. The album was produced by Rancid's Lars Frederiksen, who had produced their debut album as well. It was the final Dropkick Murphys album to be produced by Frederiksen. ''Sing Loud, Sing Proud!'' is the third studio album from Boston punk rock band the Dropkick Murphys. The album was released on February 6, 2001 through Hellcat. The album is final release to feature founding guitarist Rick Barton, who left the band early into the record of the album and only appears on a three songs. The album features various new member since their previous album. In 2000, guitarist James Lynch of Boston punk band The Ducky Boys joined the band shortly before Barton's departure while 17 year old guitarist, Marc Orrell was added as well. The new lineup was rounded out by mandolin player, Ryan Foltz and bagpipe player, Spicy McHaggis, who are only featured on this album. Stiff Little Fingers are a Northern Irish punk rock band from Belfast. They formed in 1977 at the height of the Troubles, which informed much of their songwriting. They started out as a schoolboy band called Highway Star (named after the Deep Purple Highway Star (song), song), doing rock covers, until they discovered punk. They were the first punk band in Belfast to release a record – the "Suspect Device (song), Suspect Device" single came out on their own independent label, Rigid Digits. Their album ''Inflammable Material'', released in partnership with Rough Trade Records, Rough Trade, became the first independent LP to enter the UK top 20. After six years and four albums, they split up. They re-formed five years later, in 1987. Despite major personnel changes, they are still touring and recording. Gordon Ogilvie
Gordon Bryant Ogilvie (8 May 1934 – 23 October 2017) was a New Zealand historian and biographer who wrote over 20 books, mainly about the people, places and institutions of the Canterbury region. He played a considerable role in uncovering the exploits of pioneer aviator Richard Pearse and popularising these for the first time through his 1973 work ''The Riddle of Richard Pearse''. His other major biography, '' Denis Glover : His Life'' (1999), was the first full account of this significant figure in New Zealand literature. Life Born in Christchurch, Ogilvie grew up in the Horotane Valley where his father was an orchardist. He was educated at St Andrew's College and Canterbury University College, both in Christchurch, and Victoria University of Wellington, where he received an MA in English. A dropkick is an attacking maneuver in professional wrestling. It is defined as an attack where the wrestler jumps up and kicks the opponent with the soles of both feet; this sees the wrestler twist as they jump so that when the feet connect with the opponent one foot is raised higher than the other (depending on which way they twist) and the wrestler falls back to the mat on their side, or front. This is commonly employed by light and nimble wrestlers who can take advantage of their agility, and is often executed on a charging opponent, while charging at an opponent, or a combination of the two.
