United Sikkim
United Sikkim Football Club is an Indian professional Association football, football club based in Gangtok, Sikkim. Incorporated in 2011, the club usually competed in the Sikkim Premier Division League. United Sikkim is the only club from Sikkim to have played in the I-League, which was then the top tier of the Indian football league system. Nicknamed the "Snow Lions", United Sikkim uses Paljor Stadium as home ground. It is owned by former India national football team, India captain Bhaichung Bhutia, and was founded in order to give people of the Indian state of Sikkim a professional football team. In September 2019, Bhaichung Bhutia announced shutting the club down due to some unavoidable circumstances. During an emotional farewell event, Bhaichung Bhutia thanked all the players and support staff besides the fans who supported the club over the years. Paljor Stadium
Paljor Stadium (also spelled Palzor Stadium) is a association football, football stadium located in Gangtok, Sikkim, India. It can host 30,000 spectators. Besides earlier hosting the I-League and the I-League 2, the stadium also hosts matches of various local divisions and tournaments. History Foundation Chogyal nicknamed the stadium around 1943 because United Kingdom, Britishers and a few members of the aristocratic family of Sikkim played at the Polo Ground. The old timers recall this flat piece of land being used by the Tibetan people, Tibetan traders to station their herds of sheep en route to Sikkim and India. Around 1939 one of the political officers, Sir Basil Gould had sanctioned Rs.3000 (approx $75.2634) to the forest department and ordered that the grass demonstration farm be set up there. North American Soccer League (2011–2017)
The North American Soccer League (NASL) was a professional men's soccer league based in the United States. The league was named for, but had no connection to, the original North American Soccer League. The later NASL was founded in 2009, and began play in 2011 with eight teams. From 2013 through 2017, the NASL used a split-season schedule running from April to early November, with a four-week break in July. The spring and fall champions, along with the two teams with best combined spring/fall records met in a four-team single-elimination tournament known as ''The Championship''. Johnny Menyongar (born 26 June 1980) is a Liberian former professional association football, footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career College Menyongar came to the United States from his native Liberia in 1998 and played College soccer in the United States, college soccer at National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, NAIA Lindsey Wilson College, leading the team to the NAIA Division III national championship.
